VENTURA COUNTY PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S NETWORK Post Office Box 6329 Q Oxnard, CA 93031 Q (805) 656-6011 Q www.VCPWN.org Minutes VENTURA COUNTY PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S NETWORK LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETING September 19, 2013 IN ATTENDANCE: Darian Taylor, Mary Gabriels, Sue Osborn, Shirley Jones Snyder, Sheila Lowe, Jann Huling, Micki Rickard, Jim Nicoll, Anna Kittleson, and Lynn Ryder. ABSENT: Alison Balter, Michelle McConica Membership/Webmaster –Sheila Lowe There will be a membership table at the October Business Expo. Jann will supervise the table with Mary and Lynn as backups. Anyone signing up at the Expo will pay $130 with the $35 administration fee waived. President Darian Taylor called the meeting to order at 6:15 pm. Networking- Alison Balter No report. Sheila moved that minutes of August meeting be approved, Shirley 2nd, motion carried. Special Events - Micki Rickard 31 vendors signed up so far for the Expo. Shirley will be the cashier at the door. Mary and Lynn volunteered to sell door prize tickets. Micki will have Michelle send an eblast to the membership to encourage them to come. Micki will send out information sheets to all vendors. DIRECTOR REPORTS: Pres Elect/Programs- Sue Osborn – November speaker to be Dr. Sharon Norling of The Mind Body Spirit Center. Darian will sponsor. Finance –Shirley Jones Snyder Cash on hand $11,115.55 Power Storage is now charging an additional $9/month for insurance. Shirley is looking into moving to a new storage unit where we can get more room for less money. Sue moved that we switch storage units from Power Storage to Public Storage on McGrath and Telephone. Mary 2nd, motion carried. We will try to move by November 1. Recording Secretary – Lynn Ryder Lynn to purchase iPad mini. Jim to find Grand Prize sponsor. Hospitality –Jann Huling Jann will continue to “change it up” so that we have new people as hostesses. The star under the chair worked great, but she will try something new at the November meeting. Communications - Michelle McConica No report. 1 Members at Large – Jim Nicoll and Anna Kittleson Jim will get all the membership brochures, banner, etc. from the storage unit for the membership table at the Expo. Also Jim and/or Anna will attend the Latino Expo on September 26. Immediate Past President – Mary Gabriels Centerpieces made $76 last month. No more centerpieces until January meeting. Old Business – Alison to purchase the laptop for Shirley. Phil Bullard, the insurance agent, met with LT at September meeting. New Business – VCPWN received a letter from the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society thanking us for the donation. VCPWN encouraged to have a showing at other expos: Ventura Chamber expo at The Marriot on October 24. Jann will find out how much it would cost for a table; Galz Expo at the Poinsettia Pavilion on April 19, 2014. Meeting adjourned 7:52pm Shirley, Jann, Sheila, Anna, Mary, Sue and Darian were still there after adjournment when Jann found out the price for a table.
