VENTURA COUNTY PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S NETWORK
LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETING
October 17, 2013
IN ATTENDANCE: Darian Taylor, Mary
Gabriels, Sue Osborn, Shirley Jones Snyder,
Sheila Lowe, Jann Huling, Micki Rickard,
Alison Balter, Michelle McConica, and Lynn
Ryder.
Mary moved that VCPWN change its storage
facility to Sheeler Storage starting November
1, 2013, Micki 2nd , motion carried.
Communications - Michelle McConica
Michelle entered all the business cards and
expo guests into the Vertical Response
database…an addition of over 80 contacts.
ABSENT: Jim Nicoll, Anna Kittleson
President Darian Taylor called the meeting to
order at 6:10 pm.

Sue moved that minutes of September
meeting be approved, Shirley 2nd, motion
carried.

at our November meeting as a thank you for
taking photos at the Expo, Alison 2nd, motion
carried.
DIRECTOR REPORTS:
Pres Elect/Programs- Sue Osborn –
November speaker to be Dr. Sharon Norling
of The Mind Body Spirit Center.
Darian will sponsor.
Membership/Webmaster –Sheila Lowe
1 new member from the Expo.
Networking- Alison Balter
Alison gave Shirley the new VCPWN laptop.
Finance –Shirley Jones Snyder
Special Events - Micki Rickard
Micki needs all contributions for the silent
auction by November 9.
We have a space at the Ventura Chamber
Expo on October 24. LT members
volunteered for set-up and manning the table.
Raffle will be for free dinner at November
meeting.
Michelle will send an eblast to the
membership to encourage them to donate
items.
Shirley researched different storage facilities.
Sheeler Storage gave the best space for the
price.

Hospitality –Jann Huling
Jann has been calling new members to
welcome them. She’s working on a
“Hospitality Book” to replace the pile of
hostess stuff at the tables.

Reporting Secretary – Lynn Ryder
Lynn suggested that the Expo (iPad Mini)
sponsors be given 5 minutes to tell us about
their business. (Either November or January
meeting.) Sue will contact them to see when
they are available.

Alison purchased laptop.
Chamber Business Expo table reserved.
New storage unit.
New Business –
Darian to send congratulatory letter to Expo
winner of iPad Mini.
The Board of Supervisors of Ventura are
holding a Women’s Economic Roundtable
(WER) on August 6, 2013. We nominated
Shirley Jones Snyder and Sue Osborn to be on
the panel.
