VENTURA COUNTY PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S NETWORK
LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETING
November 21, 2013
IN ATTENDANCE: Darian Taylor, Mary
Gabriels, Sue Osborn, Sheila Lowe, Michelle
McConica, Jim Nicoll and Anna Kittleson.
Insurance renewal in March. Anna quoted
State Farm but more than double what we are
currently paying. No other quotes received.
ABSENT: Shirley Jones Snyder, Jann Huling,
Micki Rickard, Alison Balter, and Lynn
Ryder.
Immediate Past President – Mary Gabriels
Will do table centerpieces starting in January.
Also will start working on new board.
President Darian Taylor called the meeting to
order at 6:30 pm.
Membership/Webmaster –Sheila Lowe
Has list of Expo attendees. No membership
meetings held in October or November. Next
membership meeting December 10.
Sheila moved that minutes of October
meeting be approved, Sue 2nd, motion carried.
Members at Large – Jim Nicoll and Anna
Kittleson
Darian reported that according to bylaws, we
are only to have one Member at Large on the
board. Since Anna will be Director of
Networking starting in January, Jim will
continue as Member at Large.
DIRECTOR REPORTS:
Pres Elect/Programs- Sue Osborn – In the
process of booking speakers for Jan & Feb.
Also working w/Julia Brownley to be a future
speaker.
Finance –Shirley Jones Snyder – November
auction sales $1031. Cash Flow Statement
$10,148.44.
Communications - Michelle McConica
Michelle added 133 names from Chamber and
Expo to mailing list. She will also be working
on data base cleanup.
VCPWN storage has been moved to Sheeler
Moving and Storage. Some discussion on
accessibility by board members.
Discussion regarding Facebook Friends
Requests. Our bylaws prevent us, as a nonprofit, from offering support to other groups
so requesting.
Computer purchased for Shirley’s use did not
have Quickbooks program as anticipated.

Old Business –
Schedule of Holiday Event at the Fairgrounds
passed around for sign-ups.
Since the print outs of the Board Meeting
Minutes are not being picked up at dinner
meetings, we will discontinue printing them
out. Members can access through our website.
New Business –
Clarified that, according to bylaws, the
“Board” consists of President, President
Elect, Director of Membership, Director of
Finance, Member at Large, Recording
Secretary, and Immediate Past President.
The Board is meeting with Julie Saltoun on
December 10 at 5:30 to discuss bylaws, nonprofit status, etc.
