Anna seconded the motion. Motion carried. Hospitality – Micki Rickard Old Business – Linda and Sue met with Julie Saltoun. It was suggested that they meet with our insurance carrier to make sure we are adequately covered. In that case, we may not need to be incorporated. Amanda is doing a great job, but we will get bids for insurance in January. We started to review the web designer grid that Sue had prepared to help make a decision and it became apparent that we did not know much about Rick Taylor’s qualifications. In addition, there were not enough board members present, so Sue delayed the vote until the January meeting. Note: Subsequent to the meeting, Rick Taylor withdrew his bid. Martha Jaffe has volunteered to join the Hospitality committee. Special Events – Celia Cortez No report. Communications - Ferne Ross In her absence, Ferne emailed a report [appended to Minutes]. Sue reported that, not knowing Ferne had already engaged her services, spoke with Jennifer Martin, who volunteered to help with the press releases. It is important for our notices to appear in the VC Star. The Business Editor at VC Star is Darrin Peschka: [email protected] Sue spoke with Ferne about adding the names collected from the expo. It was not known whether Ferne had yet done so, or whether she has decided on a provider. The question arose as to whether there is a cost for Constant Contact or Mail Chimp. Our phone message has not been updated, so Sue indicated that she would handle it. New Business – Our holiday board party will take place at the Pierpont. There will be a gift exchange for $20$25, no gag gifts. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm Respectfully submitted by. Sheila Lowe Member at Large – Jim Nicoll There is a new holistic Chamber of Commerce (membership $100/year). Some members are interested in VCPWN. Jim will get all new supplies and carry them in his car. We need to reprint some marketing pieces, including the generic board member addresses to the brochure. Member at Large – Mary Gabriels Mary suggests that to encourage bidding at the next silent auction, all items should be started at $10 and bid increases at whatever the bidder wishes. Jewelry should be packaged by itself. Darian suggested that to save time, we skip listing all the items in the basket. Tabled for discussion at the committee meeting.
