End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the
Citrix NetScaler 1000V

Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Citrix NetScaler 1000V.
The last day to order the affected product(s) is May 20, 2016. Customers with active
service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance
Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-oflife milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the
product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and
paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and
conditions of customers' service contract.
Advances in software-defined networking (SDN) and data center automation have led to an open Layer 4 through
Layer 7 ecosystem to enable network functions virtualization on various Cisco solutions. As part of that transition,
customers are requesting that the Citrix NetScaler 1000V (sold by Cisco) to be at feature parity with Citrix
NetScaler VPX (sold by Citrix), and hence it simply made sense to direct customers to Citrix NetScaler VPX and
implement the end-of-life (EoL) process for the Citrix NetScaler 1000V.
As a result, the Citrix NetScaler 1000V SKUs and specific bundles with the Cisco Nexus 1110 product line are
affected.
Note:
The Cisco Nexus 1000V and Cisco Nexus 1110 product lines are NOT part of this announcement. Cisco
is fully committed to these products and technology areas and will continue to deliver innovations on these
platforms. Customers can continue to purchase the Cisco Nexus 1000V and Cisco Nexus 1110 products.

Customers who have purchased Citrix NetScaler 1000V (sold by Cisco) can migrate to the Citrix NetScaler VPX
(sold by Citrix).
Current Citrix Netscaler 1000V customers who are deploying it on the Cisco Nexus 1110 Cloud Services Platform
have the following migration options:
1.
Today, the Citrix NetScaler VPX can be deployed on the Cisco Cloud Services Platform 2100 without SSL
acceleration.
2.
If SSL acceleration is needed, the Cisco Cloud Services Platform 2100 will be supporting Cavium
LiquidSecurity in the near future. Citrix also plans to support LiquidSecurity.
Service prices for Cisco products are subject to change after the product End of Sale date.
