Unit 1: Weeks 1-4 (Pass1)

Stage 3 – Learning Plan
DIFFERENTIATION (I-3) There are several ways to individualize instruction for your students
How will I scaffold and/or accelerate learning? For whom? How will I group my students?
SCAFFOLD: Discussion of precision/significant figures reinforces/re-teaches concepts from Chemistry I and IPC.
Mathematical problem solving supports work in Algebra 2/pre-calculus/calculus courses.
ACCELERATE: We typically complete 3 free response problems per class period, but you have a thick packet of
additional problems. If you finish 3, then press on with additional problems!
GROUP: (pre-teaching or re-teaching) “Check with a neighbor to compare answers. If you disagree, figure out
what the problem is.”
Learning Activities: Lecture/note-taking; guided and independent practice of problem-solving skills.
