What are we learning?
Daily Objective: I can conjugate an –Er and –IR verb for the present tense.
TEKS/AP/Standards: 1A- Communication.
The student communicates using the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at low
level.
How will we learn it?
Learning Activities:
Warm Up: conjugation chart for –AR verbs.
Opening: Students will review grammar notes over –er/-ir verbs (grammar handout)
-Students will begin practice over conjugations (fill the blank with the appropriate stem and
ending for present tense).

How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
Assessment Methods: teacher will call out students for guided practice.
Checks for Understanding: completion of conjugation charts.
What do I need to be successful?
Materials: Binder, grammar handout, guided practice assignment sheet, teacher’s power
point presentation.

Follow Up/HW: quiz on Friday over all verbs (-ar,-ir, -er) verbs.

I can differentiate the use and conjugation of Ser and Estar in context.

Warm up: conjugation chart over –ir/-er verbs.
Learning Activities:
-Opening: Teacher will recall or re-teach the conjugation and uses of the verb ESTAR.
-Students will do a guided practice over the use and conjugation of ESTAR (in context).
-Teacher will explain the use and conjugation of SER and students will create a poster over
the differences and uses of both: SER and ESTAR applying an Acronym for each verb.
-Teacher will explain food project and will assign countries.

Assessment Methods: Class discussion over the use of SER or ESTAR in the sentence.
Checks for Understanding: Guided practice over ESTAR feedback.

Materials: grammar handout, binder, markers, paper, etc.

Follow Up/HW: study for quiz next class (all verbs for the present tense: -AR, -IR, -ER verbs).

Daily Objective: I can demonstrate an understanding on how to conjugate a –ar, -er, and –ir
verb for the present tense by completing a conjugation chart.
TSW learns about food traditions in Latin American countries (Cultural-if time)
