Learning Activities:
 Warm up: Review Genres (Quizlet cards).
 Introduction to author’s life.
 Jigsaw activity, each pairs analyzes structure, literary devices and meaning of assigned
stanza(s).
 Each group reads own stanza, explains to class.
 Info to understand last stanza. Analyze picture and compare with last stanza of poem.

Assessment Methods: Essay next week.
Checks for Understanding: Teacher walks around and ask questions while analyzing poem.

their attention.

 Organize a timeline for novel
