Opening: Discussion how literary devices are used in Rima LIII, fill
out “Ficha” for poem.
Instruction: Quick review of literary devices. Learn: Onomatopeya,
Aliteración, Prosopopeya and Hipérbaton.
Guided Practice: Analize literary devices in different samples.
-Discuss how Edad Media ended in Spain.
Instruction: Golden Age: Focus in Renacimiento. Poetry from
Renaissance: “El Soneto”.
Closing: What elements of Renaissance can you identify in Sonet.
Assessment: Quiz “Figuras Retóricas” on Monday.
Opening:- Listen to “Soneto XXIII”, try to identify rhyme, and
metric of poem, share findings with class.
Guided practice: Receive copy of poem, each section of class
analyze metric and rhyme of assigned stanzas. Group puts
together structure analysis, connects to characteristics of a Sonet.
-Listen again and identify 3 literary devices: epíteto, antítesis and
gradación, share with class. Look up for more rhetorical figures in
Sonet, explain their function in poem.
