Text and Image

Text & Portraits
This project will combine the use of your Portrait Photography
skills and the Text Tool in Photoshop.
Step 1. Have someone take a photo of
you. A CLOSE UP portrait.
~ This means Head and Shoulders, no
more. Be very AWARE of your background
Make sure your image is FOCUSED!!!!!
Step 2. Alter Colors if needed in
Photoshop.
(I just adjusted the curves adjustment layer only.)

Step 3. Pick a word or phrase that
best represents the image or simply
a quote or phrase you like.
Choose your
font
CAREFULLY
Choose:
Regular
Bold
Italic
Option Bar
Font Size
Font
Color
Text Tool in Tool Bar
While on the text tool click once in the image and begin typing your word(s)
USE THE MOVE TOOL TO MOVE THE TEXT INTO POSITION.
**** While on the Move Tool, switch back to the Text Tool and you can change
the Font Size, Color, and Font.
Whatever you type not only creates a new
layer, but labels it as the text you’ve typed.
Step 4.
Move your text to the top
left of your image, copy
layer (Ctrl J) or hold
down Alt over the text
to copy. You will have
MANY layers.
Step 5.
Shift Click all text layers,
Right Click and select
Merge Layers.
Once merged, you should
have one layer of text that
has become a Rasterized
layer.

Step 6.
Now you can experiment with Blending Modes, and Layer Opacity.

Save as a .jpg
