Liberty LADY FLAMES
(20-8, 15-2 Big South)
Lynchburg, Va. - Vines Center - 7 p.m.
Today’s Game
Liberty (20-8, 15-2 Big South) will wrap up the 2011-12 regular season Friday at 7 p.m.,
when Commonwealth foe Radford (15-13, 9-8 Big South) visits the Vines Center. It will be
the 57th all-time meeting between the long-time rivals.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) Liberty is 10-2 in regular-season finales under head coach Carey Green, including
8-1 against Radford. Dating back to 1997-98, Liberty has gone on to win the Big South
Women’s Basketball Championship title the last 10 times it has wrapped up the regular
season with a victory over the Highlanders.
2) Liberty will aim to become the first Big South women’s basketball team ever to win 16
conference games in a single season. At 15-2 in Big South play, the Lady Flames are
currently tied with the 2008-09 Liberty and 2009-10 Gardner-Webb squads for the most
conference wins in Big South history.
3) Liberty and Radford are heading in different directions as the regular season draws to
a close. The Lady Flames have won three games in a row and 14 of their last 15 contests.
Meanwhile, Radford has dropped three of its last four games, including a 59-55 home
overtime loss to Gardner-Webb Monday evening.
4) When Avery Warley takes the court for the Lady Flames, it will mark her 128th career
appearance in a Liberty uniform, breaking the program record she currently shares with
Courtney Watkins (2004-08). The game will also be the 52nd and final contest Liberty seniors Warley and Danika Dale play at the Vines Center. The Lady Flames have gone 43-8
at home during their careers.
5) Reagan Miller will look to continue her stellar play at the point guard position for Liberty.
She has won three straight Big South Freshman of the Week honors and four total for the
season. Miller’s 53 three-pointers this season are the most by any Lady Flame since the
1991-92 campaign, which ended more than six months before Miller was born.

A Look Back at Liberty’s Win Over UNC Asheville on Monday
-- Liberty recorded its 20th win of the season Monday evening at the Vines Center, posting
an 84-53 victory over UNC Asheville. This is the Lady Flames’ 14th 20-win season in the
last 16 years.
-- The win marked Liberty’s 15th Big South Conference triumph this season, tying the
Lady Flames with the 2008-09 Liberty and 2009-10 Gardner-Webb squads for most Big
South victories in a single season.
-- Liberty led 35-31 with 4:30 remaining in the first half, before going on a 28-0 run that
spanned both halves.
-- The Lady Flames shot 52.4 percent from three-point range, making a season-best 11
three-pointers. It was the first time Liberty has hit 10 triples in a game since Feb. 18, 2008
and fell just one shy of the program single-game record.
-- Liberty shot 58.2 percent from the field during the game, improving to 8-0 this season
and 86-1 under head coach Carey Green when making at least 50 percent of its field
goals.
-- The Lady Flames won the rebounding battle for the 27th time in 28 games this year (4420) and held their 50th straight opponent to below 50 percent field goal shooting (UNC
Asheville finished at 35.1 percent).
-- LaKendra Washington scored a season-high 15 points off the bench, helping Liberty’s
reserves outscore their counterparts from Asheville, 27-13.
-- Devon Brown tied Washington for team-high scoring honors with 15 points and matched
her season high with three made triples.
-- Reagan Miller made four three-pointers as part of a 14-point, six-assist evening. She
has now hit 53 triples this season, the most by any Lady Flame since Cynthia Thomson
made 56 three-pointers in 1991-92.
-- Tolu Omotola scored 10 of her 12 points in the first half and now sits just five points shy
of 500 for her career.
Three’s Company
-- Liberty made 11 three-pointers during Monday’s win over UNC Asheville, marking the
first time the Lady Flames have hit 10 triples in a game since Feb. 18, 2008. It fell just one
shy of Liberty’s single-game record of 12 three-pointers, achieved Jan. 22, 1991 against
Charleston Southern.
-- A trio of Lady Flames hit three or more triples on Monday, as Reagan Miller had four and
Devon Brown and LaKendra Washington hit three apiece. It is the first time three Liberty
players have hit three triples in the same game since Jan. 24, 2000 at Charleston So.
Fabulous Freshman
-- For the third week in a row and the fourth time this season, Liberty point guard Reagan
Miller has been honored as Big South Freshman of the Week.
-- Miller is the first Liberty rookie since Michelle Fricke in 1999-2000 to win three straight
Freshman of the Week awards and at least four honors during a single season.
Focus on the Fundamentals
-- Liberty Head Coach Carey Green’s squads have traditionally rebounded well and played
strong defense. This year’s edition of the Lady Flames is no different, as the team ranks
No. 1 nationally in rebound margin (+15.6) and No. 6 in field goal percentage defense
(.335).

-- Paces Big South freshmen and ranks fourth overall among conference players with 4.0
apg.
-- Her 112 assists are the most by a Liberty freshman since Sarah Wilkerson totaled 154
assists as a freshman in 1996-97.
-- Her 53 three-pointers rank her No. 5 on Liberty’s all-time single season list. It is the most

played in a game (48), scored a career-high and game-high 23 points and equaled her

Notes/Highlights
-- On Friday, she will break Courtney Watkins’ school record for career games played,
when she makes her 128th appearance in a Liberty uniform. Warley already owns program records for games started in a career (127) and consecutive games started (127).
-- Celebrated Senior Day in fine fashion on Feb. 25, pacing all players in both points (18)
and rebounds (15) during a win over Gardner-Webb.
-- Grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds during the Feb. 11 win over Charleston Southern,
including four in the decisive second overtime. She tied Theresa Bream’s Vines Center
single-game rebounding record, set Dec. 4, 1992 against St. Peter’s.
-- Broke the Big South career rebounding record during the second half of a Feb. 4 win at
Campbell. She has now pulled down 1,221 career boards.
-- Ranks No. 7 nationally in rebounding.
-- Scored a season-high 26 points Jan. 16 at Charleston Southern, with 22 of her points
coming after halftime. It was the most points a Liberty player has scored in a single half
since Megan Frazee tallied 31 second-half points at Virginia on Nov. 20, 2006.
-- Broke Katie Feenstra’s program career rebounding record during the first half of the
Jan. 7 game against High Point, when she pulled down her 1,034th career board.
-- Her double-double (18 points, 15 rebounds) against Gardner-Webb on Feb. 25 was
her 12th of the season and the 44th of her career. The Lady Flames are 37-7 when she
notches a double-double, including 10-2 this season.

Notes/Highlights
-- Her next made three-pointer will be No. 100 of her career, which will make her the eighth
Lady Flame ever to reach that milestone. Brown will become the first Liberty player to hit
100 career triples since 2005 graduates Daina Staugaitiene and Kristal Tharp.
-- Scored 20 of her 27 points during the second half of a Feb. 20 win at Presbyterian College. It was the second time in her career that she has scored 20 or more points in a half.
-- Scored a season-high 27 points on Feb. 13 against Coastal Carolina, setting new career
highs for free throws made (14) and attempted (15). Her 14 free throws are the most by a
Lady Flame since Elena Kisseleva hit 15 foul shots against South Carolina State on Dec.
15, 1997 and rank No. 5 in program history.
