Today’s Game
Liberty (17-8, 12-2 Big South) will play its final road game of the 2011-12 regular season
Monday at 7 p.m., when the Lady Flames travel to Presbyterian College (12-12, 6-7 Big
South). Liberty will attempt to bounce back from a Saturday loss at Winthrop, while PC will
aim to extend its Big South-best four-game winning streak.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) Liberty will look to slow down Presbyterian College, who enters Monday with the longest active winning streak in the Big South at four games. The Blue Hose have already
recorded the most overall victories (12) and Big South wins (6) in their NCAA Division I
history.
2) The Lady Flames will attempt to bounce back from a 71-69 loss at Winthrop on Saturday and avoid something that has not happened in the last 15 years of Liberty women’s
basketball. Liberty has not lost consecutive Big South games, including regular-season
and tournament contests, since Feb. 20 and 22, 1997.
3) Liberty is 8-0 all-time against Presbyterian College and has won all eight games by nine
or more points. That is the second-most contests the Lady Flames have played against a
single opponent without ever suffering a loss. Liberty is 14-0 all-time versus BirminghamSouthern.
4) Do not expect an abundance of offense on Monday at the Templeton Center, as Presbyterian College leads the Big South in scoring defense at 54.7 ppg, with Liberty ranking
second at 57.0 ppg. Neither team has reached 60 points in the squads’ last four head-tohead matchups.
5) Different players have stepped forward to carry the scoring load for the Lady Flames
of late. Reagan Miller scored a career-high 23 points against Charleston Southern (Feb.
11), Devon Brown posted a season-best 27 points versus Coastal Carolina (Feb. 13) and
Avery Warley notched a 19-point, 15-rebound outing Saturday at Winthrop.

Bouncing Back
-- After Liberty’s 71-69 setback at Winthrop on Saturday, the Lady Flames will attempt to
avoid losing back-to-back Big South contests for the first time in 15 years.
-- The last time Liberty dropped back-to-back Big South games (including regular-season
and tournament tilts) came at the end of the 1996-97 regular season. The Lady Flames
dropped an 86-70 home decision to UNC Greensboro on Feb. 20, 1997. Two days later,
they closed out the regular season with a 71-66 setback at Winthrop.

-- The Lady Flames won the rebounding battle for the 24th time in 25 games this year (4736) and held their 47th straight opponent to below 50 percent field goal shooting (Winthrop
ended up at 36.1 percent).
-- The Eagles did much of their damage from beyond the three-point arc, hitting 10 of their
32 attempts for 31.3 percent.
-- Avery Warley led the Lady Flames in both points (19) and rebounds (15), recording her
11th double-double of the season. She also recorded multiple blocked shots for the ninth
consecutive outing, finishing the game with two rejections.
-- Tolu Omotola scored 11 of her season-high 16 points during the second half, to go along
with seven rebounds. She has now scored in double figures in four straight games for the
first time in her career.
-- Devon Brown was limited to a season-low six points, but tied a season high with 11 rebounds and distributed a team-high eight assists. She also made all four of her free throws
and has now connected on 13 consecutive foul shots.
-- Danika Dale and Reagan Miller chipped in eight points apiece for Liberty.
Road Warriors
-- Liberty has played well in road Big South Conference matchups in recent years, going
83-11 under head coach Carey Green. The Lady Flames have never lost more than two
road conference games in a season since Green took over as head coach prior to the
1999-2000 campaign.
-- The Lady Flames, who went 7-1 in Big South road tilts last season, are also 7-1 in conference road games in 2011-12.
