Aim of the course
•  The aim of the course is to provide an understanding of and
methods for enterprise systems selection, implementation and
use.
•  In the course the user perspective rather than vendor
perspective is taken as the starting point

Goals of the course
Upon completion of the course you are expected to be able to:
•  - explain the enterprise systems concept
•  - describe, assess and reflect on the structure, use and
interaction between enterprise system and organisation
•  - assess challenges and possibilities when choosing,
implementing and using enterprise systems
•  - find and interpret academic articles relevant to enterprise
systems use
•  - orally and in writing present own analyses and constructively
discuss others.

Group work
The purpose of the group projects is to give you an opportunity
to encounter, second or first hand, views and impressions
expressed by people who have been involved in ERP ventures.
These encounters will provide you with interesting material, and
constitutes a source to compare with other sources in the
course (literature, lectures, discussions).
Groups of 4-5 students
Please try to have a mix between Swedish and international
students

•  10-12 pages (excluding executive summary and
references).
•  Executive summary
•  A list of contents,
•  A clear purpose,
•  A review of relevant literature,
•  A section describing your method and theoretical
framework
•  A section describing your case,
•  An analysis section,
•  Conclusions relating to the report’s purpose,
•  A reference list with complete references to sources used.

Group work contd
•  As a team building exercise, the groups are to be expected to
prepare a very short presentation on one of the ERP systems
(11th of May)
•  Have a look at the vendors website, their marketing material
etc.
•  How do they present themselves, who is their audience/target, what
are their strong points

•  Seminars:
•  Work in progress (23rd of May)
•  The groups make their reports available by providing a link
•  A designated group reads the report and prepares feedback
•  The groups present at the seminar and receive peer feedback
•  Virtual seminar (31st of May)
•  Student provide their reports in their links, and designated groups
read and provide written feedback to them
•  By 10:00 the projects have to be made available, and by 17:00 the
feedbacks should be made available

Final Group work
•  Final presentation:
•  The reports should be made available by June 7, 13:00
•  Two designated groups will read the report and prepare
opposition, and make it available
•  The students will present their reports on 9th of June
