Campbell LADY CAMELS
(12-8, 5-4 Big South)
Buies Creek, N.C. - Gore Arena - 1 p.m.
Today’s Game
Liberty (13-7, 8-1 Big South) will continue its four-game Big South road swing through
North Carolina Saturday at 1 p.m., when the Lady Flames play at Campbell (12-8, 5-4 Big
South). In the 1,000th game in program history, Liberty will attempt to secure head coach
Carey Green’s 300th career victory and snap the Lady Camels’ 11-game home winning
streak at Gore Arena.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) Something has to give during Saturday’s game. Campbell is 8-0 at home this season,
including 4-0 in Big South home games. Overall, the Lady Camels have won 11 straight
home contests at Gore Arena, dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Liberty is 5-0 in Big
South road games during the 2011-12 campaign and 81-10 in conference road tilts under
head coach Carey Green.
2) Liberty has not traditionally played well at Campbell, going just 1-7 all-time in games
played in Buies Creek. The Lady Flames’ only victory at Campbell came in an 81-78 overtime decision on Feb. 6, 1993.
3) Saturday’s game will be the 1,000th contest in the history of the Liberty women’s basketball program, which tipped off its first season in 1975-76 under head coach Brenda
Bonheim. The Lady Flames are 570-429 all-time and have won 13 Big South Conference
titles and made 13 NCAA Division I Tournament appearances.
4) Liberty Head Coach Carey Green enters Saturday’s game with a 299-101 career record, meaning he will have a chance to earn career victory No. 300 at Campbell. Green
would become the first women’s basketball coach in program history to reach 300 victories and the first to win 300 games as a Big South women’s basketball head coach.
5) Liberty redshirt senior center Avery Warley has posted 1,117 career rebounds. She
needs 11 boards on Saturday to break the Big South all-time rebounding record, currently
held by former Charleston Southern standout Kate Sanford (1996-2000).

Millennial Moment
-- Saturday’s game at Campbell will be the 1,000th contest in the history of the Liberty
women’s basketball program, which played its first season in 1975-76 under head coach
Brenda Bonheim. The Lady Flames boast an all-time record of 570-429, for a 57.1 winning
percentage.
-- Liberty has won 13 Big South tournament titles, made 13 NCAA Division I Tournament
appearances, posted 13 20-win seasons and captured 12 Big South regular-season titles
during its first 1,000 games.
299 and Counting
-- Liberty head coach Carey Green enters Saturday’s game with a 299-101 career record,
leaving him one win shy of 300 for his career.
-- Green would become the first women’s basketball coach in program history to reach 300
victories and the first to win 300 games as a Big South women’s basketball head coach.
-- Green’s 100th (Jan. 17, 2004 at Coastal Carolina) and 200th (Jan. 19, 2008 at Charleston Southern) coaching victories both happened on the road against Big South teams.
Windex Warley
-- Liberty redshirt senior center Avery Warley has grabbed a Liberty-record 1,117 rebounds
for her career. That ranks second in Big South Conference history, just 10 boards behind
former Charleston Southern standout Kate Sanford’s (1996-2000) conference record of
1,127 career rebounds.
-- Warley broke Katie Feenstra’s program rebounding record of 1,033 career boards during the first half of the Lady Flames’ Jan. 7 home game against High Point.

A Look Back at Liberty’s Win at Gardner-Webb on Monday
-- Liberty used a 21-2 run that spanned both halves to break open the rematch of the last
three Big South Championship title contests and propel the Lady Flames to a 78-51 win
at Gardner-Webb.
-- The Lady Flames’ seventh straight win featured their largest margin of victory (27 points)
in 10 all-time meetings with the Runnin’ Bulldogs. It was Liberty’s fourth consecutive win
by 20 points or more during the team’s current winning streak.
-- Liberty head coach Carey Green earned win No. 299 of his coaching career, improving
his career record to 299-101.
-- Liberty outrebounded its 47th straight opponent (45-33) and held its 42nd consecutive
opponent below 50 percent field goal shooting (Gardner-Webb shot 28.3 percent for the
contest.)
-- The Lady Flames scored a season-high 18 fast break points, as compared with only two
for Gardner-Webb.
-- Reagan Miller tied her career high with 18 points and sank a career-best five threepointers. She became the first Lady Flame to make five triples in a game this season
and the first Liberty freshman to do so since Daina Staugaitiene made five trifectas at
Hampton on Dec. 15, 2001. Her five triples equaled the most any Liberty player has hit in
a single game during Carey Green’s 13 seasons as Liberty’s head coach.
-- Devon Brown scored 14 points, reaching double figures for the 21st straight game. She
also grabbed seven rebounds, becoming the 22nd Lady Flame ever to pull down 500 career boards. Brown finished the contest with 503 career caroms.
-- Avery Warley posted 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, notching her eighth double-double of the season and the 40th of her career. She has finished with double-doubles
in six of her 10 all-time matchups against Gardner-Webb.
-- All 10 Liberty players in uniform scored a point and grabbed a rebound.
Recipe for Success
-- Liberty enters Monday’s game with a season-best seven-game winning streak. The following are a few keys to the Lady Flames’ recent success.
-- Liberty has won all six games by 15 or more points, posting an average margin of victory
of 25.0 ppg (77.1 to 52.1).
-- Liberty has gotten to the free throw line an average of 25.7 times per game, as compared with just 11.6 times per contest for its opponents. The Lady Flames are shooting
better than their season average from the line, connecting at a 70.6 percent rate.
-- Liberty has outrebounded all seven opponents, by an average of 16.3 rpg.
-- Devon Brown is averaging 19.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.3 steals per
contest during the winning streak.
Road Warriors
-- Liberty has played well in road Big South Conference matchups in recent years, going
81-10 under head coach Carey Green. The Lady Flames have never lost more than two
road conference games in a season since Green took over as head coach prior to the
1999-2000 campaign.
-- The Lady Flames, who went 7-1 in Big South road tilts last season, are 5-0 in conference road games in 2011-12.

in a game this season and the first Liberty freshman to do so since Dec. 15, 2001, when

numbers at Charleston Southern.
-- Ranks seventh in the conference with 32.3 minutes played per game. No Lady Flame
has averaged that many minutes per game for a full season since since Carey Green took
