Liberty held the duo to just seven total points on Saturday, and no Blue Hose player reached double figures. -- Despite seeing her career-long streak of 18 straight free throws halted during the second half, Avery Warley led all players with 16 points for the game. She also blocked three shots, claiming sole possession of third place in Liberty history with 134 career rejections. -- Devon Brown scored in double digits for the 18th game in a row, dating back to last season. She finished with 13 points, leapfrogging Sharon Snodgrass for eighth place in program history with 1,176 career points. -- Tolu Omotola’s three rebounds pushed the redshirt junior’s career total to 309 boards in her two seasons at Liberty. She joins teammates Warley, Brown and Danika Dale among the top 50 rebounders in program history. -- Reagan Miller made all three of her field goals, including a three-point try. Flirting with History -- Jennifer Fairfax owns one of the longest-standing records in Liberty program history with her streak of 22 consecutive made free throws in 1991. A pair of current Lady Flames have gotten close to her mark recently, however. -- Devon Brown saw her streak of 18 straight made free throws come to an end at Charleston Southern on Jan. 16. On Saturday against Presbyterian College, Avery Warley’s string of 18 consecutive free throws was halted during the second half. -- Brown owns the longest active streak on the team currently, after making six straight foul shots versus Presbyterian College on Saturday. Winning a Defensive Battle -- Saturday’s 59-39 win over Presbyterian College marked the first time this season that Liberty has won when scoring less than 60 points. Last year, the Lady Flames won seven such games. Windex Warley -- Avery Warley rebounded her own missed shot with 8:03 remaining in the first half of the Jan. 7 game against High Point, giving her 1,034 career boards. That broke Katie Feenstra’s (2001-05) Liberty career rebounding record of 1,033 caroms. -- Warley now has 1,084 rebounds for her career. That ranks second in Big South Conference history, 43 boards behind former Charleston Southern standout Kate Sanford’s (1996-2000) conference record of 1,127 career rebounds.
