Liberty and Radford have combined to win 24 Big South championships in 27 years. The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines 1) Liberty is facing Radford in its Big South opener for the third consecutive season. The Lady Flames opened conference play with a win over the Highlanders during each of the last two years and are 12-1 in their last 13 Big South lid-lifters. 2) Liberty has faced Radford more often than any other opponent in program history, as Saturday will be the 60th installment of the head-to-head series. The Lady Flames have won five straight contests with the Highlanders and are 34-4 in the last 38 matchups. 3) The Lady Flames and Highlanders enter Saturday’s matinee heading in different directions. Liberty is 3-1 in its last four games after starting the 2013-14 season at 0-4. On the other hand, Radford won its first two games of the year but has now lost five in a row, all on the road. Saturday will conclude the Highlanders’ season-long six-game road swing. 4) If recent history is any indication, this could be a close game. All four meetings between Liberty and Radford during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons were decided by single digits, with the Lady Flames coming away victorious each time. 5) Redshirt junior guard Emily Frazier will look to continue her streak of impressive performances for the Lady Flames. During the last five games, the Texas native is averaging 12.4 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.4 apg and 1.8 spg while making 60 percent (9-of-15) of her three-point attempts. During Tuesday’s win over Richmond, Frazier set new career highs for points (17) and three-pointers made (4), while tying her career best with seven boards.
