Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) is seeking outstanding scientists who have demonstrated
(or have strong potential for) innovation and leadership in research within the framework of the
UPFellows programme in order to integrate them in their departments. In the field of Economics
fellows will join the Economic and Business Department, where they will be encouraged to
interact and create synergies with existing research programmes, while they will need to provide
novel expertise in order to maximise the impact of the fellowship in their career development.
The UPF Economic and Business Department is looking for young academics, with
interesting research contributions in a number of promising areas:

In the area of macrofinance, we are looking for candidates that will be able to interact
with the members of the department on the issues of information and liquidity

In the area of economics of competition and industrial organization applied to
management, the department is looking for a candidate whose research copes with the
Economics of Innovation and Technological Change

In the area of corporate governance, the department is looking for candidate in the area
of the analysis of bankruptcy procedures

In the area of microeconomics the department is looking for a candidate with a strong
background on the economics of information

The department is looking for a candidate with a strong background on Econometrics of
panel data

The department is looking for a candidate with a strong background on Applied
Economics related to institutions and historical inheritance
Candidates to join the Economic and Business Department are expected to hold a PhD or to be
able to hold a PhD by May 31st, 2015 in Economics or related disciplines, and undertake
transnational mobility ( not have spent in Spain more than 1 year in the last 3 years immediately
prior to the submission of the application).
