“Assessment of Vaccination Billing Capacity of New York’s Local Health Departments”

Deliverables
a. Identify the business requirements for New York’s local health departments to bill
publicly and commercially funded heath plans and other insurers for vaccinations.
b. Conduct an in-depth assessment of six LHDs to identify the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats related to establishing successful vaccination billing systems
in New York State’s LHDs.

Data collection and analysis
Submit a report of findings from the in-depth assessment of LHD billing capacity.
c. Prepare an appraisal of the costs required for successful implementation of business
requirements needed for billing for immunizations.
d. Meet with NYSDOH officials as needed on all aspects of the project by phone or in
person during data collection and reporting phase and in the summer of 2011 as
needed.
