Implementation of control system for hydrostatic transmission test rig Hardware-in-loop Simulation Project Course 2010 - Flumes Department - TMPM01 Introduction Hydrostatic transmission is an efficient way of power transmission in off-highway applications such as construction machines, forest machines etc. This concept enables us in achieving higher speed/torque conversion range with lower power transmission losses. This project deals with replacing of existing xPC target based control system in the transmission test rig with a LabVIEW based target computer developed by Prevas. Controllers from the previous works done on same hydrostatic test rig were taken and analyzed. New controllers for the drive, transmission and load side of the test rig were designed and implemented in Simulink and validated using co-simulation with AMESim . Hardware connections were successfully tested by trial runs. When the target computer is replaced, the controllers were implemented for the new target computer using Viking GUI. Sensor signals coming from the rig were identified properly and control signals generated by controllers were sent back to the rig. Project Team Shiva Kumar, Kathiravan, Pema Wangda, Dawn Joy, Karthik Sekaran and Swaroop Reddy (L to R) Figure 1: Your caption to go here Conclusion and future works Drive side controller 3D look up plot for load side controller Drive side controller was tested successfully. New interface offers flexibility in changing controller parameters in real time. Significant improvement in the new system is the achieved better sampling rate of sensor signals. User manual with step by step procedure of Viking GUI interfacing is done. Future works include implementation of transmission and load side controller in Viking GUI.
