Biography for Matthew P. Smith Since joining the North Central State College Board of Trustees in 2003, Matt has served as Vice Chairman of the College’s Board of Trustees during 2005-2006 and Chairman during 2007-2008. He has also served as a past Board Chair for the Ohio Association of Community Colleges. Matt received that association’s Richard N. Adams, Ph.D. Educational Service Award in 2008 for his demonstrated continued commitment to trustee education. Matt also serves as a Board Director for PECO II inc., Performance Telephone, Pacquin Energy & Fuel, and Schillings Graphics, and is the President of Firenze Valley Farm Inc. He is active with the Galion “Chamber of Commerce, the Galion Kiwanis, and the boy Scouts of America Heart of Ohio Council where he serves as Treasurer. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Ashland University in Ohio. Matt and his wife, Linda, live in Mansfield and have three children.
