Second Annual TRIO Awards Banquet
The Second Annual TRIO Awards Banquet was held on Thursday,
April 25, 2013, to acknowledge the accomplishments of TRIO
students and to recognize those who have shown support to the
program. Many were able to join our celebration including
students and family members, Regional Representative David
Howard (Senator Sherrod Brown’s staff), Mansfield Mayor
Timothy
Theaker,
NCSC adminstrators, faculty and staff. We appreciate all
who were able to join in our celebration and also those
who were unable to attend but are always supportive.

effort! We
extend a
special thanks
to Teri Myers for attending the banquet and taking great photographs!
Certificates were presented to students in the categories of
Distinguished Merit Awards (Dean’s List), Rising Star Awards (3.03.499 GPA),
StrengthsQuest
program completion, and TRIO Achievers (graduates). Red

honor cords
were presented
to our
graduates
recognizing
their
completion of
the program. Individual awards were presented to the following
TRIO students, NCSC faculty and staff: Deb Hysell, Denise
Hendershott, and Teresa Van Horn were recognized as TRIO
Champions; Alex Haag was selected by the students as Outstanding Tutor; Amber Ferguson, Paula Glasgo,
Andrea King, Jason Massie and Elizabeth Thomas received the TRIO Sprit Award; Ryan Christie, Anthony Taylor
and Jill Von Haase
were recognized for
Leadership in Action;
and Rajan Franklin was
selected as the TRIO
Student of the Year
and given the
Director’s Award.
