Nominations for the student-led teaching
awards are now open until 18 March
2016, with students nominating online via
the Students’ Union. All students are able
to nominate a member of staff –
academic, admin or technical – who has
made a difference to their teaching and
learning experience at Sussex.
There are three key changes to this year’s awards:

Students do not have to decide the category for the award when
nominating

The nominee will not be eligible unless more than one student submits
a nomination (group nominations are acceptable but each student
should include their name on the nomination form)

The awards will be decided by a panel of reps from across the cluster
(including a student rep from each school)
To nominate, visit www.sussexstudent.com/SLTA
A significant number of international
students remain on campus over the
Christmas vacation so, for the past
few years, International Student
Support have produced a ‘Christmas
Programme’ which pulls together
information about events happening
on campus and in the local area over
the holiday period.
This year’s programme is now available
www.sussex.ac.uk/internationalsupport/tripsandevents/christmas
The University of Sussex’s
permanent city shopfront on
Lewes Road has now opened.
The information centre provides
a showcase for the University’s
range of courses, its research
expertise and displays of student
work.

To those who were aware of him, Colin
the budgie arrived in Chichester I
courtyard in early summer and settled in
quite happily with the resident sparrows,
blue tits, blackbirds et al. With the
current ‘improvements’ taking place to
the space and oncoming colder weather,
concerns grew for his long-term wellbeing.
I can now report that Colin has been safely re-housed
in an aviary in Chichester (the city). Perhaps we should
have employed him as an MPS tweeter . . .
If you have any news for our web pages and
social media feeds, our Information
Co-ordinator, Justine Charles, would be delighted
to hear from you.
