CONGRATULATIONS!
Three members of MPS, Dr Nicos Georgiou and Dr Ali Taheri (Maths) and
Dr Kathy Romer (P & A) have received a 2015 University Teaching
Innovation prize.
The prize of £5000 each will be used for projects they have proposed to
enhance the student experience in MPS; this money will directly benefit our
students.

For example, Nicos will use the money to organise events for Maths students
in the inter-session week in January 2016; Ali will support extracurricular
activities for students and enhance the postgraduate seminar series in
Mathematics; and Kathy will develop software to improve final year project
allocation in P & A and promote cross-campus collaborations of students.
An important step on the way to the University Teaching Innovation Prize is
the support and nomination by our students, so thank you to all students who
voted and please consider nominating outstanding lecturers, admin and
technical staff in the forthcoming round of student-led awards.

The 2015 interim staff survey is now running
until 20 November 2015. Its purpose is to gain a
better understanding of areas of particular
concern and to monitor the impact of the actions
that have been taken since the 2014 staff
survey.
The survey is totally anonymous so your responses to the questionnaire will
never be linked to you as an individual.
