REPAIR PROCEDURES
For MARSEAL® 7000
Surface Preparation
The surface preparation of the substrate shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
The completed substrate shall be examined by the Owner and Contractor to determine its acceptability to begin lining repairs.
Relatively smooth, clean, dry surfaces are required for the proper application of Marseal® 7000 (Marseal® 8000 can also be used for repairs;
it is a peel & stick product). The surface must be free of large voids, loose aggregate and sharp projections.
Where concrete repair is required, a cement-based or polymer-based repair mortar is recommended.
Clean concrete allowing to dry before proceeding. Abrasive blasting is not required.
Temperature
Repairs should only be installed when both the surface temperature and air temperature are above 30°F.
Priming
No priming is required when Marseal® Structural Sealant (MSS) is used for bonding.
Installation of 7000
Cut 7000 patches to fit areas to be repaired, leaving at least a 2” overlap over existing, cleaned membrane.
