Who Should Attend
• Anyone who is exposed to Nevada’s summer weather conditions
Description
This workshop shows you how to prepare mentally and physically to work in extreme heat conditions.
You learn what attitude and equipment is needed to survive the heat. You will also find out how to
recognize the symptoms of dehydration and heat-related injuries, the importance of water, clothing,
shade, survival tips and tricks and survival kits.
Summer Survival is an elective course of the Road Scholar Program
Instructor
Scott Alquist has 32 years of experience as a safety professional with a background
in employee safety and hazardous materials. He is an OSHA authorized and EPA
accredited instructor and also a National Highway Institute instructor. Scott is a
technician level hazardous materials first responder and trainer with knowledge and
training in bio-hazards and clandestine drug labs.
As the Manager of the TMCC Safety Center, he provides customized training and services to industry
and government agencies. To date, the Safety Center has trained over 50,000 employees
nationwide.

The registration fee is $30.
Cancellations must be made one week prior to the workshop to receive a 50% refund. Substitutions may
be accepted. No shows will forfeit their registration fee.
