PirateBox (2011)
Self-contained and mobile digital collaboration and file sharing system. Inspired by pirate radio and the
free culture movement, PirateBox utilizes Free and Open Source software to create mobile wireless
communication and file sharing networks where users can chat and anonymously exchange images,
video, audio, documents, and other digital content. Exhibition: This project has been featured in over
100 international online and print publications, including New Scientist, Ars Technica, and Wired Italia.
It has inspired over 10,000 tweets on Twitter and several hundred reader comments. The PirateBox
website has logged over 1 million page views since February 2011.
FreeDrop (2010)
Local P2P digital file sharing and collaboration platform (Prototype and Proof of Concept – see
PirateBox above). Exhibition: Faculty Show, NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human
Development
ParaSight (In Development)
Sousveillance (inverse surveillance) system designed to be worn as a wearable device. Includes a
networked camera on a timer with built in carry-and-forward delay-tolerant networking which allows
the user to document her physical environment and then anonymously upload data to the Internet via
open wifi networks.
TechNomadic Gallery (In Development)
Mobile digital exhibition system designed to be embedded as a wearable device. It features a mobile
web server that hosts and locally broadcasts interactive websites displaying digital media and artworks.
It is aimed at smart phones and other wireless mobile devices.
Cloudburst (2010)
Prototype for a free and open source software framework designed to host a series of distributed
services (email, file sharing, microblogging, file backup and sync, media streaming, etc.) on a low-cost
plug computer. Aimed at maximizing users' control over privacy and personal data by reducing reliance
on cloud-based servers and proprietary platforms.

bMLS (bovine Maternal Lactating Solution) (2009)
Multimedia assemblage that examines the relationships between dairy consumption, human health, and
biotechnology.
Waterboard (2008)
Digital Assemblage featuring a clear bag of water suspended over an embedded LCD screen that
displays the first page of the United States Constitution. Over a period of a few minutes, passages from
the Constitution are digitally redacted until only fragments of the text remain. The piece is
accompanied by an audio track of water pouring out of a bottle.
Fire-and-Forget (2007)
A digital assemblage featuring a video collage playing on an LCD screen embedded inside a military
issue gas mask. The video includes cockpit video footage, film clips, and screen-recorded scenes from
America's Army (official U.S. Army online recruitment and training tool). It explores the intersections
between technology, entertainment, morality, and violence.

Curatorial Director, Conflux (01.2009 – present)
Conflux: Art & Tech Festival for the Creative Exploration of Urban Public Space Conflux is an
international art and technology festival that promotes the artistic and intellectual investigation of
everyday urban life though emerging artistic, technological and social practices. Over the last two
years, Conflux has featured lectures, performances, workshops, and exhibitions from over 250 public
space scholars and artists, including the Yes Men, Reverend Billy, Marc Horowitz, Sal Randolph, Steve
Lambert, and Natalie Jeremijenko. Conflux has received significant media attention including stories in
the New York Times and on National Public Radio's All Things Considered. http://ConfluxFestival.org
ARCHIVAL/ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP
Creative Tools for Critical Times (CT4CT) (02.2009-present)
Creative Tools for Critical Times (CT4CT) is a web-based research project and repository of artistic
works that exist at the intersection of contemporary culture, critical theory, and civic engagement. The
site serves as a research tool and archive of contemporary artists and creative practices. CT4CT is
specifically designed to provide curricular resources for artists, teachers and students wishing to engage
in the study and production of contemporary art. http://ct4ct.com The CT4CT website currently hosts
over 670 pages and has received over 250,000 visitors since launching in 2009.
