Director of the Fast Track Program. (2007- 2013) Collaborated with all Program
Leaders, the Office of Clinical Studies, and Graduate Advisors to create a year-long
experience that enabled career changers and recent college graduates to fulfill
course work and field requirements in an accelerated Masters Program leading to
teacher certification.
Co-facilitator of the Early Career Project, (2007 – 2009), a grant-funded initiative,
which offered a series of workshops for NYU recent graduates teaching in NYC
schools. The workshops addressed issues of differentiated instruction for ELL and
LD students in general education classrooms and explored varied aspects of work
management.
Member of the Office of Clinical Studies which met regularly as a team of supervisors
and coordinators to draft guidelines for, student teachers and learning partners in
their responsibilities in the field; sponsored student teaching convocations.
Designed assessment tools for student teachers.
Member of the Curriculum Committee (2008 – 2010) – reviewed proposals for new
courses across all disciplines.
Co-Coordinator of Job Strategies Workshop (2008 – present) Open to all graduating
students, this event provides participants guided steps for their job search and
moderates a panel of recent graduates, administrators and faculty working in NYC
public schools.
Supervisor of student teachers of secondary English (2003 – present) Work with
middle and high school student teachers and cooperating teachers to oversee the
field work component in several of NYU’s partnership schools.
Liaison to two partnership NYC public schools: Beacon HS and Landmark HS.
Facilitated internships, professional development and special programs by working
alongside the administrators and teachers at each site.
Instructor: Education foundations course: Inquiries into Teaching and Learning,
Masters Seminar in English Education, Student Teacher Seminars in ELA at the
Graduate and Undergraduate levels, Literary Seminar and English Educator as
Reflective Practitioner.
Panel member for the development and evaluation of DRSTOS, a student teaching
assessment tool. Trained field supervisors in the use of this rubric.
