Pre-College Portfolio Preparation
A Two Week 2012 Summer Intensive at Rochester Institute of Technology

T his course is for high school students who will be applying for freshman acceptance into a
college art program as artists, photographers, filmmakers, and designers.
I t is centered around the process of preparing a college entry art portfolio with emphasis on
an in-depth investigation of media, concept development, and critical analysis. Students will
draw from life, exploring subject matter such as the human figure, still life, interior space and
nature. They will participate in group and individual critiques, conduct visual research, and be
guided through the process of portfolio selection and documentation.
