The CPA Australia Work Experience opportunity is open to CPA Australia Network members in Australia and

CPA Australia Ltd (CPA Australia) is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality and
security of personal information provided by you. By submitting your Application, you confirm that you have
read, understand and agree to the Privacy Statement set out below and you consent to CPA Australia’s use,
collection and disclosure of the information you supply as part of applying for the CPA Australia Work
Experience opportunity (Application).
1. Your personal information collected by CPA Australia for this Application (Personal Information) is
collected to:
a.
conduct the Work Experience opportunity referred to in the Work Experience Terms And
Conditions;
b.
process your Application; and
c.
publish your name if you are chosen as a Finalist.;
if your Application is successful:
d.
award you the Work Experience opportunity;
e.
share your personal information with the Work Experience employer; and
f.
publish your name and use your Application and Personal Information for the purposes of
demonstrating a successful work application on CPA Australia’s website and social media
channels for the period of 18 months from the start of the Application process (as set out in the
Terms and Conditions); and
2. CPA Australia may disclose your Personal Information to external service providers to whom CPA
Australia has contracted out functions such as printers, mailing houses, IT companies and media and
advertising companies, but only for the purpose set out above in Item 1 of this Privacy Statement. Your
personal information may be transferred or stored outside the country where the information was
collected for the purposes stated above.
3. If you do not provide CPA Australia with the Personal Information requested, CPA Australia will be
unable to process your Application.
4. You have the right to access or correct any personal information we hold about you (subject to any
applicable legal exceptions). Please contact CPA Australia on +613 9606 9606 if you would like to
access or correct the Personal Information that we hold about you. CPA Australia will generally provide
you with access to your Personal Information (although a fee may be imposed).

2016 CPA Australia Work Experience – Application Terms & Conditions
By submitting your Application you confirm that you have read, understand and agree to and will comply with
these Terms and Conditions.
1. Information on how to apply for the CPA Australia Work Experience opportunity (Work Experience) and
the Work Experience details form part of these Terms and Conditions. Submitting an application in the
way prescribed herein (Application) is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Applications
not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions are deemed ineligible.
2. The promoter of the Work Experience is CPA Australia Ltd (ABN 64 008 392 452) of Level 20, 28
Freshwater Place, Southbank, Victoria 3006 (CPA Australia).
3. The provider of the Work Experience is Tennis Australia (ABN 61 006 281 125) of Batman Avenue,
Victoria, Australia (Tennis Australia).
4. You must comply with each stage of the Application and the Terms and Conditions in order to be
considered for the Work Experience.
5. If you are the successful Applicant, you must sign and comply with the terms and conditions in Tennis
Australia’s Volunteer Agreement and Tennis Australia’s Australian Open Accreditation Terms and
Conditions and provide Tennis Australia with a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
to the satisfaction of Tennis Australia.
6. In the event that the Application process does not elicit a minimum of 20 applicants, CPA Australia
reserves the right (subject to the requirements of any applicable law) to terminate the Application
process and the entire Work Experience opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria
7. Applications are open only to individuals who are residing in Australia or New Zealand (not necessarily
Australian or New Zealand residents for tax purposes) for the duration of the Application process and the
Work Experience (expected between 9:00am (AEST) on 3 August 2014 and 5.00pm (AEST) 22
January 2016) and who at the time of application:
a. are 18 years of age or older; and
b. have successfully completed a first year equivalent of a business or commerce undergraduate
degree at an Australian or New Zealand university or Higher Education Institution with at least 2
accounting subjects passed; and.
c.
are a member of the CPA Australia Network

Steps and Dates in the Application Process
8. Applications open at 9.00am (AEST) on Monday 3 August 2015 and close at midnight (AEST) on
Wednesday, 30 September 2015.
9. You must comply with each of the following steps in the Application process, (as each relates to your
Application) and the Terms and Conditions, in order to be considered for the Work Placement.
Step 1

All Applicants must enter their complete and accurate personal details
including their LinkedIn profile URL, by visiting the dedicated Work

details (completing Step 1) you should receive a ‘Confirmation’
message on your screen.
Step 2
LinkedIn Profile
Assessed
All LinkedIn profiles submitted will be evaluated based on best practice
for a LinkedIn profile, as recommended on The Naked CEO website at:
thenakedceo.com
Ten (10) Applicants will be selected to proceed to Step 3 Interviews
based on the above evaluation (Finalists).
The names of the 10 Finalists will be announced on Friday 16 October
2015 on the Work Experience page on the CPA Australia website at:
cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/network/australianopen-work-experience
Every Applicant who has met the Eligibility Criteria will receive an
individual evaluation of their LinkedIn profile via email by 5.00pm
(AEST) Friday 16 October 2015.
Step 3
Finalist’s
Interviews
Evaluated
Each Finalist will be emailed an information pack containing details
about the interviews for this Step 3 (Information Pack) and will need
to confirm receipt by ‘Reply’ email by 5:00pm (AEST) on Monday 19
October 2015.
In a similar format to a job interview, Finalists will be asked to submit a
[10] minute recorded interview as detailed in the Information Pack. Each
Finalist in their recorded interview must include a [2] minute “elevator
pitch” and answer 2 questions.
One (1) Applicant from the 10 Finalists will be offered the Work
Experience opportunity, based on the selection criteria set out in
Section 10 of these Terms and Conditions (Finalist)
Recorded interviews must be submitted to CPA Australia, as detailed in
the Information Pack, by 9.00am (AEST) Monday 26 October 2015.

Announced
The successful Applicant will be announced on Friday 30 October
2015 on the Work Experience page on the CPA Australia website at
cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/network/australianopen-work-experience

Each Finalist will receive individual feedback on their Interview via email
by 5.00pm (AEST) Friday 30 October 2015.
10. You are responsible for ensuring that your contact details submitted to CPA Australia are complete and
accurate. You may forfeit your right to claim the Work Experience in the event that your contact details
are incomplete or inaccurate.
Selection Criteria and Judging Panel
11. A judging panel of 3 representatives from CPA Australia and Tennis Australia (Judging Panel), will
select [1] successful Applicant from 10 Finalists, based on the following selection criteria and
PROVIDED THAT the successful Applicant has met the requirements for all prior Steps in the
Application process. The Judging Panel will evaluate how each Finalist in their Finals Interview, exhibits:
a. initiative;
b. leadership; and
c.
presentation skills,
More information about the Finals Interview will be in the Information Pack sent to each Finalist.
Work Experience Opportunity
12. If you are the successful Applicant, you will receive the following Work Experience opportunity totalling 5
days, as set out in Sections 12 to 16 of these Terms and Conditions:
a. a tour of CPA Australia’s head office in Southbank, a social media briefing and mentoring session
with Alex Malley, The Naked CEO;
b. a ‘dress for success’ shopping spree to the value of AU$500 to purchase a work appropriate outfit;
c.
A half day in the prize money office at Tennis Australia, working on payments for player.
d. A half day in the finance department at Tennis Australia, working on financial reporting and analysis
of the Australia Open.
e. A half day working with the Tennis Australia Operations Teams and in the tournament Volunteer
Hub.
f.
Behind the scenes access at the Australian Open for the 3 days of the work experience will be
undertaken to allow a full tournament experience (Australian Open accreditation).
13.If your principle place of residence is more than 300 kilometres from CPA Australia’s Melbourne office,
you will receive the following travel and accommodation:
a. A return economy flight to Melbourne, Australia (to the maximum value of AU$700). The flight will be
booked by CPA Australia and you will be sent your e-ticket by email. The flight is for the purpose of
attending the Work Experience opportunity and must:
i.
Depart from your nearest capital city to Melbourne and arrive in Melbourne, by no later than
11:00am (AEST) on Monday 18 January 2016.
ii.
Depart from Melbourne to your nearest capital city no later than 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday
22 January 2016.
b. Car transfers (to be booked by CPA Australia) with a maximum value of AU$100 or less each (in
total AU$200) to be strictly used by you for the purposes of the Work Experience:

i.
from your residence to the airport of departure in your State;
ii.
from the airport where you arrive to your residence.

c.
Car transfers with a maximum value of AU$100 or less each (in total AU$200):
i.
from Melbourne airport to the hotel (specified in Section 15 below);
ii.
from the hotel (specified in Section 15 below) to Melbourne airport.
14. If your principle place of residence is less than 300 kilometres from the hotel (specified in Section 15
below) (via the shortest route), you will receive (via express post) from CPA Australia:
a. 2 cab charge e-tickets with a maximum value of AU$300 or less each (depending on the location of
your residence and via the most direct route to the destination) to be strictly used by you for the
purposes of the Work Experience and in particular for transfers:
i.
from your residence to the hotel (specified in Section 15 below); and
ii.
from the hotel (specified in Section 15 below) to your residence;
15. Four (4) nights’ accommodation booked by CPA Australia (maximum value of $1000), including:
i.
a standard single room at the Crown Promenade located at 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank,
Victoria 3006;
ii.
With check in at 12:00pm (AEST) on Monday 18 January 2016 and check out at 10:00am
(AEST) on Friday 22 January 2016; and.
iii. at CPA Australia negotiated rated including breakfast on each day.
All other expenses are strictly your responsibility.
16. ’Dress for success’ shopping spree held on Monday 18 January 2016 at clothes stores / departments
within Melbourne nominated by CPA Australia to the maximum value of AU$500 (including GST).
Clothing items chosen by you (up to AU$500(including GST)) will be paid for by a staff member of CPA
Australia at the clothes store / department.
Use of Winning Applicant’s image in Advertising
17. Each Applicant acknowledges and agrees that CPA Australia is to use the successful Applicant’s name
and/or image and/or Application (including Step 1-3) in any future marketing campaign which may
involve print or other media (Advertising) and:
a. agrees to appear in the Advertising and authorises CPA Australia to make and use audio or visual
recordings and/or stills of their image for use in the Advertising;
b. authorises CPA Australia to use their image howsoever recorded, in the Advertising in any medium
in the world (including without limitation, in print or a broadcast, or by transmission or communication
to the public, electronically, digitally or by other medium not now existing);
c.
authorises CPA Australia to use their Application (including Step 1-3) howsoever recorded, in the
Advertising in any medium in the world (including without limitation, in print or a broadcast, or by
transmission or communication to the public, electronically, digitally or by other medium not now
existing);
d. releases CPA Australia from any obligation to make payment to them for participating in the
Advertising or for the use of my name and/or image in the Advertising;
e. declares that they have not engaged in activities or conduct that would bring harm to their or CPA
Australia’s or Tennis Australia’s reputation; and
f.
agrees that they will not use or disclose to any person, any information relating to CPA Australia and
the Advertising (Confidential Information), except where they are required to make disclosure

under any law or Court Order or where the Confidential Information is proved to be in the public
domain, or where they were in possession of the Confidential Information prior to 4 August 2014.
General
18. CPA Australia does not discriminate on the grounds of race, religion, age, disability, gender or sexual
orientation.
19. As a CPA Australia Work Experience Applicant, you are an Ambassador of Australia and your actions
and remarks will have an impact on our reputation. You must not engage in any activities of a public
nature likely to affect CPA Australia adversely. Any Applicant that post inappropriate or offensive
materials on the internet or via any other format, in relation to the Work Experience opportunity,
Application Process, CPA Australia or Tennis Australia may (at CPA Australia’s or Tennis Australia’s
sole discretion), have their Work Experience Terminated. You must not act as an official representative
of CPA Australia during your Work Experience.
20. CPA Australia reserves the right to verify the validity of Applications and to disqualify any Applicant that
tamper/s with the Application process or that submit/s an Application that is not in accordance with the
Terms and Conditions. CPA Australia will not accept any late or misdirected Applications.
21. In the event that for whatever reason, any aspect of the Work Experience opportunity referred to in these
Terms and Conditions is unavailable, CPA Australia reserves the right to substitute the unavailable
aspect for an aspect of equal or greater value. Unless otherwise specified in these Terms and
Conditions, except with the written consent of CPA Australia, the Work Experience opportunity is not
transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. CPA Australia has absolute discretion as to
whether it will provide such consent and need not provide any reasons to any person for providing or
withholding consent.
22. In the event that the Work Experience referred to in these Terms and Conditions is not claimed within 5
working days of the winning successful Applicant being announced, CPA Australia reserves the right to
award the Work Experience to the second best valid Application. In such circumstances, the new
winning Applicant will be notified by telephone, by email or in writing within 3 days of being selected.
23. CPA Australia’s decision in relation to any and all aspects of the Application process and the Work
Experience is final and binding on every person who applies and no correspondence will be entered into.
24. Disqualification of any individual who CPA Australia has reason to believe has breached any of the
Terms and Conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise
the fair and proper conduct of the Application is at CPA Australia’s discretion.
25. CPA Australia, each of its related bodies corporate, officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for
any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct, indirect or
consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any aspect of the
Work Experience Opportunity except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
26. CPA Australia accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property in transit. CPA Australia
makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability of the Work Experience opportunity.
To the extent permitted by law, CPA Australia is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained, to person or
property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act
or omission, deliberate or negligent, by CPA Australia, or its agents, in connection with the arrangement
for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winners. This clause does
not affect, and is not intended to affect, any rights a consumer might have, which are not able to be
excluded under applicable Australian consumer protection laws.
27. CPA Australia is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or
lines, computer or online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical
problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, delay or error in postal service or any
combination thereof, including but not limited to any injury or damage to Applicants ‘or any other person's
computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this Application.
CPA Australia is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone

user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Application, or for any
technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this
Application including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission,
communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised
access to or alteration of entries.
28. If for any reason this Application process is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited
to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or
any other causes beyond the control of CPA Australia which corrupt or affect the administration, security,
fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Application, CPA Australia reserves the right, subject to any
written directions given under applicable law, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry
process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Application. CPA Australia reserves all rights to
recover damages and/or other compensation as may be deemed appropriate from such an offender.
29. In the event of war, terrorism, a state of emergency or a disaster, CPA Australia reserves the right
(subject to any written directions under applicable law) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the
Application.
