New and Changed Features
Features Available with Firmware Release
The following sections describe the features available with the Firmware Release.
Application Dial Rules
Application Dial Rules for DX600 Series phones are used to convert mobile contact sharing numbers to
network dialable numbers. Application Dial Rules apply to numbers in Global Search, Contacts, Favorites,
Quick Contact Badges, and all click to dial features. Application Dial Rules do not apply when the user is
dialing the number, or if the number is moved to the Edit field before it is initiated by the user.
Application dial rules are set in Cisco Unified Communications Manager. See the Dial rules overview chapter
of Cisco Unified Communications Manager System Guide at http://www.cisco.com/en/us/products/sw/voicesw/
ps556/prod_maintenance_guides_list.html.
Check CTL and ITL Files Remotely
To check the DX650 CTL and ITL files remotely, the device must be, or previously have been, registered to
the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server, and Web Access must be enabled on the device
configuration page.
In a web browser, go to http://<device ip>/SecurityInformation to view the CTL and ITL files, or http://<device
ip>/SecurityInformationX to viewthe CTL and ITL files in an XML format.
Data Migration
The data migration feature ensures that a factory reset is not required when there is existing data incompatibility
after a phone firmware upgrade.
For more information, see Cisco Desktop Collaboration Experience DX650 Administration Guide, Release
10.1(1).

Important Note
This section contains important information to consider with the Cisco DX650.
Cisco Virtual Office Setup
In a Cisco Virtual Office setup, Cisco recommends the use of a Cisco 881 Integrated Services Router instead
of the Cisco 871 router.
Limitations and Restrictions
This section lists the limitations and restrictions that apply to the Cisco DX650.
• To prevent unauthorized copying of Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected HD video through
the HDMI port, an HDMI monitor (or any HDMI sink device) that is connected to the phone must be
HDCP compliant.
• The Cisco DX650 does not support Android apps that require portrait mode, GPS, or Accelerometer.
However, apps that support both portrait and landscape are supported in landscape mode.
• The only supported external cameras are the Logitech C920-C Webcam and Logitech C930e.
™
• Use the Google Play Store to find and add applications to your phone. Depending on your security
settings, the Google Play Store may not be available.
Cisco does not guarantee that an application that you download from a third-party site will work.
Behavior During Times of Network Congestion
Anything that degrades network performance can affect voice and video quality, and in some cases, can cause
a call to drop. Sources of network degradation can include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
• Administrative tasks, such as an internal port scan or security scan
• Attacks that occur on your network, such as a Denial of Service attack
To reduce or eliminate any adverse effects, schedule administrative network tasks during a time when the
devices are not being used or exclude the devices from testing.

Troubleshooting
Administrator Redistributes Phone
When an administrator redistributes a phone (that is, gives the phone to a different user), the administrator
should execute a factory reset of the device to remove any user data that was previously stored on the device.
Change User ID of a Device
If an administrator changes the user ID of a device from user A to user B, none of the data that is associated
with user A will be available to user B.
The new user must download apps and other data.
This scenario may apply to a single user that changes from an old user ID to a new user ID.
