Introduction and Programme
Introduction
This meeting will focus on recent advances in the discovery of new therapeutic
agents to tackle some of the world's most deadly and widespread diseases.
Who should attend
This symposium is designed to give medicinal chemists working in this 'tropical or
third world diseases' the opportunity to share their results with others and
stimulate scientific interaction in what is a growing and increasingly important
area. It is also particularly relevant for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
who are currently working in this or related fields.

Venue
London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, 20 Keppel Street, London, WC1E 7HT. The
meeting will take place in the Manson Lecture Theatre. The LSHTM is situated within
walking distance (10-15 minutes) of Euston and Kings Cross/St Pancras stations. Nearest
underground stations are Goodge Street, Euston Square and Russell Square. The main

Application and Fees
Application should be made on the form overleaf. The fees are £50 for academics and
industrialists, and £20 for students. Fees include attendance, abstracts, lunch and
refreshments. Application acknowledgements will be sent within two weeks.
