The BA/MA Art History program requires 108 credit hours in art, of which 56 must be at the graduate level.
Credit earned with less than a “C-” grade in undergraduate art history classes cannot be applied toward fulfillment of the degree.
Of the 183 credits required for the BA degree, a minimum of 75 credit hours must be upper division (2000-3000 level).
A student may register for up to 10 credit hours of independent study projects.
The BA/MA student must complete either a minor or a second major at the undergraduate level in a different approved department. If the minor is a
foreign language, the required second year may count toward it.
BA/MA student applies for graduate study in the third year. Acceptance requires 3.5 major GPA, passing of qualifying exam before fourth year, and
acceptance of graduate application by the Graduate Studies Office and the Art History Graduate Committee. See Advisor for full details.
