Student Grant for Summer 2015 Internships
Funded, in part, by the Liberal Arts Endowed Fund for Internships
The Dean for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences will award three grants for up to $3,000 each to AHSS
students who will enroll in internships in summer 2015. The Dean and Associate Dean of Arts, Humanities and
Social Sciences will choose recipients based on the application packet, outlined below.
Criteria
 Merit.
 Juniors and seniors (graduating no earlier than August 2015) majoring and/or minoring in Arts,
Humanities and Social Sciences are eligible.
 The internship must be for academic credit (3-credit minimum) at the University of Denver.
Process
 Electronically submit* the following by April 17, 2015, by 11:59 p.m. to [email protected] with AHSS
Internship Grant Application in the subject heading:
o Name, major, Banner ID number, and year in school
o Write a one page (no more than 500 words) statement that explains the following:
 Where you intend to intern.
 The academic department that will be supervising the internship.
 Why you chose the organization you did.
 How the organization and the experience you will gain fit with your educational goals.
o Your current APR, or equivalent documentation of your current GPA.
o A brief note from the organization confirming the internship. If you have not yet been hired and
therefore can’t obtain a letter from the organization, submit the posted job description.
o A brief letter from the faculty member who will supervise your internship.
* Special Note: You will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application. If you do not receive a
confirmation e-mail, please contact us to verify that your proposal has been received.
Applicants will be notified no later than May 8, 2015. Stipends will be dispersed in a timely fashion thereafter.
Selected recipients may be asked to present at AHSS functions, such as student mentorship events.
