2015 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS Purpose and Eligibility The Dante Society has established these awards to enable qualified students to advance their study of the Italian language, culture or history. These are one-time, non-renewable awards. To be granted one of these awards, the student must be able to document acceptance to an established study program of Italian language, culture or history. Selection of winners will be made on the basis of their interest in the Italian culture, previous academic performance, merits of their proposed study, community service and letters of recommendation. All of the following must be submitted: 1. A completed application, including your essay and financial worksheet. 2. An official college transcript. 3. A copy of acceptance to a recognized Italian studies program. 4. Two letters of recommendation, one of which must come from an instructor and mailed directly to the Society. Scholarships will be awarded at a luncheon on Sunday May3, 2015 at a location to be announced. Winners must be in attendance in order to receive their award.
