Scopes in this category have been noticed as : Almost always sterorscropic, used heavily for
long periods, high quality with very little curvature or aberration, numerical apearature higher
than most student scopes, coarse adjustment approx. 13 mm/rotation and fine adjustment
approx. 0.1 mm/rotation, magnification typically 10X to 1500X for observation, tilt to at least 45
degrees or have ergonomic adjustment equivalent.
B2. Microscopes and accessoreis typical for research in industry and life science
Scopes in this category have been noticed as : Compound Inverted, almost no curvature or
aberration permissible, relatively expensive of all categories, image quality is the most
important consideration, used moderately, usually has three or more objective lenses,
accessories for photmicrography, capable of phase contrast and fluorescence studies, vibration
resistant, dark field, simple polarization, frequently used with photo video systems, some
models are motorized, tilt to at least 45 degrees or have ergonomic adjustment equivalent.
