New Student Orientation and Weekend of Welcome will help students and parents explore Savannah
State’s academic and social life and assist with the transition to our campus. Workshops are scheduled
to help with planning and ensuring academic success that focus on financial aid, registration, support
services, and academic expectations. All new students, freshmen and transfer students, are required to
attend Orientation and Welcome Weekend activities.

11:30 am – 12:50 pm Student Session: Tiger Essentials#
Location: Howard Jordan Auditorium
#1: Navigating through a new website at a new school can be confusing.
This session will help you activate your electronic journey through your
University!
10:30 am – 4:00 pm
#2: Books, Meals and Parking, oh my! Learn how to maneuver through
the path of auxiliary services to be as comfortable as possible in your
new Tiger home!
Parent & Family Session**
Location: Student Union Ballroom A&B
This session will introduce parents and family members to the various
departments, academic resources and support services that can help
your student succeed. Hear from a panel who will share important
information about the university.

Location: Campus Dining Hall (King-Frazier Student Center)
Students are free with meal tickets. Parents, guests and family members
pay $6.50.
2:15 pm – 2:45 pm
Student & Parent Session: Tiger Funds#**
Location: Student Union Ballroom A&B
Paying for college can be a challenge but with this fact-filled information
session, we will help you find ways to take care of the bill without
breaking the bank!

Tiger Pass
Make your Tiger Pride official by finalizing your financial aid,
registration, housing and getting your Savannah State identification
card! In addition, you will have the opportunity to explore the campus or
make a final trip to the local Wal-mart or Food Lion grocery store.
SOL Time! (ALL STUDENTS)#
Location: Student Union Ballroom A&B
Students will meet with assigned Student Orientation Leader (SOL) and get the
inside scoop on being a student at Savannah State.
(Parents remaining can relax, watch television, or use computers in the Student Commuter Lounge
located on the 1st floor of the Student Union while students are in session)

Dinner & Free Time**
