Sarah Milledge Nelson is an East Asian archaeologist who works mostly in South Korea and China. She has published eleven scholarly books and three novels about archaeology. Her most recent books are The Hongshan Papers, Collected Studies in the Archaeology of Northeast China (2014), and Shamans, Queens and Figurines, Power and Gender in Archaeology (2015). Currently she is writing a book on Kyongju in South Korea, a new edition of The Archaeology of Korea, co-with Rachel Lee, and a novel about an East Asian queen. She is John Evans Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Denver.
