NPCC (New Programs and Curriculum Committee) Protocol for Proposal Submission I. The following forms are needed to submit a proposal to NPCC for consideration (please use only the necessary forms): - Form I: Summary Page (must be submitted with all proposals) - Form II: Course Addition Page - Form III: Course Deletion Page - Form IV: Course Change Page - Form V: Program Change Detail Page II. All proposals must be submitted in electronic form via email to Academic Affairs at least seven (7) days prior to the NPCC meeting for which the proposal will be placed on the agenda. Upon receipt of proposals, Academic Affairs will forward electronic copies to committee members for review prior to the scheduled meeting. A hard copy must also be forwarded to Academic Affairs and this copy must have appropriate signatures (Departmental and/or Dean). III. A representative must be present to discuss the proposal and answer any questions at NPCC and Faculty Senate meetings. IV. If a proposal is approved with changes, the revised proposal must be submitted for review at the next scheduled NPCC meeting. V. To add a course to the core: a University System of Georgia Core Curriculum Proposal form must be submitted seven (7) days prior to the NPCC meeting for which the proposal will be placed on the agenda; After NPCC and Core Curriculum committee approval and following Faculty Senate approval, the final proposal must be submitted to Academic Affairs immediately. The representative will be notified of the Faculty Senate approval date. Once the Core Curriculum Proposal form is approved, it will be submitted to the Core Council on General Education at the University System of Georgia by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. VI. For a new degree program: the BACCALAUREATE AND MASTER’S DEGREES PROPOSAL FORM (see http://www.usg.edu/academic_programs/new_programs/) must be submitted to Academic Affairs in accordance with the BOR timeline for new degree proposal review. The representative will be notified of the deadline upon approval by the NPCC. The final proposal will be submitted to the Board of Regents by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. VII. For a new certificate program: the Certificate Proposal Form (see http://www.usg.edu/academic_programs/changes/) must be submitted to Academic Affairs for review at least 10 days following Faculty Senate review and approval of the proposal. The representative will be notified of the Faculty Senate approval date. Once the Certificate Proposal Form is approved, it will be submitted to the Board of Regents by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. VIII. All electronic submissions (proposals, Core Curriculum, Baccalaureate and Master’s Degree, and Certificate proposal forms) must be received as Word documents to allow for editing and revision in the Office of Academic Affairs.
