• C Danny Grauer hit his seventh home run of the season and drove in another run with a
double in Liberty’s win at Clemson, Tuesday.
• This past Friday at Gardner-Webb, Grauer collected his third three-hit game of the season
and drove in two runs in win at Gardner-Webb.
• Grauer is tied for fourth in home runs among Big South hitters. He is fifth in RBIs in slugging
percentage in the conference.
• 2B Ryan Seiz hit his 10th home run of the season, 4/14 vs. Virginia Tech. He leads the Big
South with 10 home runs.
• Seiz posted his ninth three-hit game of season at Longwood, 4/13. Seiz leads the Flames
with 19 multi-hit games.
• Seiz also leads the Big South in runs scored, slugging percentage and total bases. He is
third in batting average and second in on base percentage. The second baseman is tied for
third in the conference with teammate Alex Close with 36 RBIs.
• 1B Alex Close is tied for third in RBIs in the Big South. In addition, he is also tied for sixth
with five home runs.
• OF Andrew Yacyk had two hits including a home run vs. Virginia Tech, 4/14. Yacyk’s two-run
home run in the fifth inning was his third of the year.
• DH Becker Sankey hit his first home run of the season at Longwood, 4/11. Sankey drove in
seven runs, 4/7-13.
• SS Dalton Britt enters the weekend with a career-high 12-game hit streak. The streak ties
Alex Close for the longest hitting streak by a Flame this season.
• OF Nick Lacik is second in the Big South Conference with 26 walks.
• Liberty RHP Trey Lambert leads the Big South Conference with nine wins. The senior
recorded his ninth consecutive win in 5-1 win over Gardner-Webb, last Thursday. In the win,
Lambert recorded his Big South-leading third complete game.
• Lambert pitched back-to-back shutouts against VMI, 4/4, and Presbyterian College, 3/28.
The senior pitched a one-hit complete-game shutout at Presbyterian College, earning Big
South Pitcher of the Week honors for March 24-30.
• Lambert ranks fifth in innings pitched (72.1) and ERA (2.12).
• RHP Parker Bean is tied for third in the Big South Conference in wins. He leads the Flames
and is eighth in the conference in strikeouts.
• Bean was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week and earned Louisville Slugger National
Player of the Week honors for March 31-April 6.
• Bean pitched his first complete game in 6-1 over Longwood, 4/13. He did not allow a hit until
the fifth and struck out 11 batters.
• Bean came within two outs of a no-hitter in win over VMI, 4/6. The RHP struck out a careerhigh 16 batters over 81/3 scoreless innings.
• RHP Ashton Perritt recorded his team-leading ninth save, Tuesday at Clemson.
• LHP Shawn Clowers ran his record to 5-0 on the season with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless
relief in 4-3 win at Clemson, Tuesday.

• Defending champion Liberty has been tabbed to finish
on top in the Big South Conference’s North Division
standings by the conference’s head coaches in the
league’s annual preseason poll.
• Coastal Carolina was chosen to finish the year as the
South Division’s top team.
• This season will be the second year of divisional play for
Big South teams. The 12-team conference will be split
into two six-team divisions with each team playing 27 Big
South games each.
• This season, the Big South Baseball Championship
will be played at the Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C.,
May 20-24. The conference champion will receive the
league’s automatic bid to a NCAA Regional.

(NCBWA) poll.

Perritt Named to Midseason NCBWA Stopper Watch List
• Liberty reliever Ashton Perritt is one of 50 relief pitchers named to the midseason
watch list for the 10th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)
Stopper of the Year Award, the NCBWA announced Wednesday.
• The honor is annually given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I.
• Perritt, who also starts in the outfield for the Flames, has posted a 1-1 record with a
1.64 ERA and nine saves in a team-high 14 appearances this season. The junior righthander has struck out 23 and walked three in 22 innings.
• Perritt earned his ninth save of 2014, retiring the side in order to close out Liberty’s 4-3
win at No. 20 Clemson, Tuesday night.
• The right-hander’s nine saves are the third most in a season in school history. Last
season, Perritt recorded 10 saves, the second most in a season in school history,
behind 16 by Josh Brey in 2000.
• He enters the weekend with 19 career saves, ranking second on the all-time program
list behind Brey, who posted 27 from 1999-2001.
Liberty Posts Best Record Through 40 Games
• With a 31-9 mark, Liberty posted its best record through its first 40 games of the
season in program history.
• The Flames previously had gone 30-10 over its first 40 games of the season four
times, the most recent being 2012.
• Liberty posted a 30-10 record in 2012, 1981 and 1980.
Pitching Making Mark
• Liberty entered the week with the seven-best winning percentage in the nation (32-10,
.762). The Flames’ mound corps has been a key element for Head Coach Jim Toman’s
team by making things tough for the opposition, this season.
• The Flames enter the week with a Big South-leading 2.42 ERA. Liberty is nationally
ranked 13 in the category.
• Liberty pitching also ranks seventh nationally with eight shutouts. The Flames recorded six consecutive shutouts in Big South contests from March 28 - April 6. Liberty
did not allow a run in a sweep of a three-game series at Presbyterian College, March
28-30, and during a three-game sweep of a series against VMI at Liberty Baseball
Stadium, April 4-6.
• Liberty pitching has posted a 2.42 ERA and held opponents to .221 batting average in
2014.
• The Flames have held opponents to 3.0 runs per game this season, the 12th fewest in
the nation.
• Over their last 30 games, the Flames have a 1.86 ERA and held opponents to a .207
batting average. Liberty is allowing 2.2 runs per game during the span.
Toman Notches 250
• Liberty head coach Jim Toman recorded career win 250 with Liberty’s 10-4 victory at
Longwood, last Friday night.
• In seven years, Toman has compiled a 255-147-1 career record with a .634 winning
percentage.
• Toman has recorded the best winning NCAA Division I winning percentage and best
Big South Conference mark of any coach in school history.
• Toman is one of only two Liberty coaches to win over 200 games in program history.
He joins program founder Al Worthington, who posted 343 victories during 13 seasons
as the Flames head coach.
