• 2B Ryan Seiz hit his 10th home run of the season, 4/14 vs. Virginia Tech. He leads the Big
South with 10 home runs.
• Seiz posted his ninth three-hit game of season at Longwood, 4/13. Seiz leads the Flames
with 19 multi-hit games.
• Seiz also leads the Big South in batting average, RBIs, runs scored, on base percentage,
slugging percentage and total bases.
• C Danny Grauer collected his third three-hit game of the season and drove in two runs in
win at Gardner-Webb, Friday.
• Grauer hit his sixth home run of the season in win at Gardner-Webb, Thursday.
• Grauer is fifth in home runs in the Big South. He is fifth in RBIs and is sixth in slugging
percentage in the conference.
• 1B Alex Close is tied for second in the Big South in RBIs and eighth in slugging percentage.
He has five home runs and is sixth in conference.
• Close had his streak of reaching base, snapped at 28 consecutive games, 4/14. It is the

• DH Becker Sankey hit his first home run of the season at Longwood, 4/11. Sankey drove in

• SS Dalton Britt enters the week with a season-long 10-game hit streak. It is the longest of
his career. Britt has at least one in 20 out of his last 21.
• Britt is tied for eighth in the Big South Conference in hits.
• Liberty RHP Trey Lambert leads the conference with nine wins. Lambert recorded his ninth
consecutive win in 5-1 win over Gardner-Webb, Thursday. He pitched his Big South-leading
third shutout.
• Lambert pitched back-to-back shutouts against VMI, 4/4, and Presbyterian College, 3/28.
The senior pitched a one-hit complete-game shutout at Presbyterian College, earning Big
South Pitcher of the Week honors for March 24-30.
• Lambert leads the Big South Conference in wins. He ranks third in innings pitched (72.1)
and seventh in ERA (2.12).
• RHP Parker Bean was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week and earned Louisville
Slugger National Player of the Week honors for March 31-April 6.
• Bean pitched his first complete game in Liberty’s 6-1 over Longwood, 4/13. He did not allow
a hit until the fifth and struck out 11 batters.
• Bean is tied for second in the Big South Conference in wins and is ninth in ERA. He leads
the Flames and is tied for sixth in the conference in strikeouts.
• Bean came within two outs of a no-hitter in win over VMI, 4/6. The freshman right-hander
struck out a career-high 16 batters and allowed only one batter to reach second base over
81/3 scoreless innings.
• RHP Ashton Perritt record his first win of the season with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief in
4-1 win at Gardner-Webb, Friday. He is second in the Big South Conference with eight saves.

• Defending champion Liberty has been tabbed to finish
on top in the Big South Conference’s North Division
standings by the conference’s head coaches in the
league’s annual preseason poll.
• Coastal Carolina was chosen to finish the year as the
South Division’s top team.
• This season will be the second year of divisional play for
Big South teams. The 12-team conference will be split
into two six-team divisions with each team playing 27 Big
South games each.
• This season, the Big South Baseball Championship
will be played at the Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C.,
May 20-24. The conference champion will receive the
league’s automatic bid to a NCAA Regional.

• Liberty moved to 16-4 at home this season.
• On April 4, the Flames drew 2,792 fans against VMI, setting new stadium record.
• The Flames posted a 25-9 mark in their first season at the Liberty Baseball Stadium in 2013.
• Liberty won its first Big South Baseball Championship since 2000 at its new facility. The

• With a 31-9 mark, Liberty has record its best record through its first 40 games of the
season in program history.
• The Flames previously had gone 30-10 over its first 40 games of the season four
times, the most recent being 2012.
• Liberty posted a 30-10 record in 2012, 1981 and 1980.
Pitching Making Mark
• Liberty entered the week with the fifth-best winning percentage in the nation (31-9,
.775). The Flames’ mound corps has been a key element for Head Coach Jim Toman’s
team by making things tough for the opposition, this season.
• The Flames enter the week with a Big South-leading 2.41 ERA. Liberty is nationally in
the category.
• Liberty pitching also ranks fifth nationally with eight shutouts. The Flames recorded six
consecutive shutouts in Big South contests from March 28 - April 6. Liberty did not
allow a run in a sweep of a three-game series at Presbyterian College, March 28-30,
and during a three-game sweep of a series against VMI at Liberty Baseball Stadium,
April 4-6.
• Liberty pitching has posted a 2.41 ERA and held opponents to .221 batting average in
2014. The Flames have held opponents to 3.0 runs per game this season.
• Over their last 30 games, the Flames have a 1.85 ERA and held opponents to a .207
batting average. Liberty is allowing 1.6 runs per game during the span.
Toman Notches 250
• Liberty head coach Jim Toman recorded career win 250 with Liberty’s 10-4 victory at
Longwood, April 11 .
• In seven years, Toman has compiled a 254-146-1 career record with a .635 winning
percentage.
• Toman has recorded the best winning NCAA Division I winning percentage and best
Big South Conference mark of any coach in school history.
• Toman is one of only two Liberty coaches to win over 200 games in program history.
He joins program founder Al Worthington, who posted 343 victories during 13 seasons
