How do I purchase my SSU decal?
How do I affix my parking decal?
For more information about SSU parking rules and regulations, visit http:// www.savannahtate.edu/fiscalaffairs/
parking.shtml.
If you require special parking accommodations, you
must obtain a handicap hangtag. The form for the
hangtag may be obtained through Georgia Department
of Driver Services.
EVERYONE must have either a temporary permit or a
valid SSU decal. Commuter students who have valid
decals from other University System of Georgia institutions are not required to purchase a Savannah State decal.
All requests for motor pool vehicles, buses, or
vans for trips being paid for from University
funds, must be made through Parking and Transportation located in King-Frazier Suite 127. If a
University bus or
driver is not available, we will contract for an outside
vendor, and the
department will be billed back for the actual
amount of the vendor’s invoice. Once you have
scheduled a trip a Reservation Confirmation will
be sent to your email. Upon your return, a
Transportation Customer Satisfaction Survey
will be sent to your email. For a description of
our vehicle fleet and cost, please see http://
www.savannahtate.edu/fiscalaffairs/
Want to save gas and money?
Try taking the Chatham Area Transit (CAT) bus!
SSU students may ride any CAT bus with valid SSU
ID. This service is paid for by the student transportation fee. Routes 12 and 31 stops near campus.
Schedules are available throughout campus or online
at www.catchacat.org. CAT also provides oncampus shuttle services, as well as two bus routes
especially for SSU students—the Prowler and the
University Express. The Prowler goes to downtown
Savannah on Friday and Saturday nights. The University Express goes to McAlpine Square, Oglethorpe Mall, and Walmart five days a week. Watch
your SSU email (Tiger Mail) for pick-up times and
locations. Please note that these routes may be modified at any time during the semester, based on the
needs of the University.
Where can I park?
Parking lots are designated for each of the five parking
categories (Commuter, Faculty/Staff, Reserved, Resident,
Retiree). Parking is restricted to the designated lots from
7:30 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. on class days during Fall and Spring
semesters. Otherwise, parking is open to anyone with a
parking decal except in reserved spaces.
Reserved spaces are always reserved! In some parking
lots where more than one parking classification is identified, the spaces may be individually marked. Citations
will be given to vehicles parked in a space or parking lot
that are not in their decal designation. In some cases,
violating vehicles may be booted and/or towed. No one
with a SSU decal may park in a visitor’s space.
An information sheet about where your decal allows you
to park will accompany the permit. If you have any questions about where to park, feel free to call the parking
office for clarification or visit our website at http://
savannahstate.edu/fiscal-affairs/parking.shtml.
Where can commuter students, friends, guests, and
visitors park who are visiting resident students in the

must park in the University Village Overflow Lot. All
vehicles parked in the University Village must have a

rental agreement. For drivers with new vehicles, the tag
application, title, and bill of sale, must be presented. A
