TRANSPORTATION
WANT TO SAVE GAS?
Try taking the Chatham Area
Transit (CAT) bus!
All requests for motor pool
vehicles, buses or vans for trips
being paid for from University
funds, must be made through
the Transportation and Parking
Department of the Office of
Auxiliary Services. If a
University bus or driver is not
available, Auxiliary Services
will contract for an outside
vendor, and the department will
be billed back for the actual
amount of the vendor’s invoice.
For a description of the vehicles
available for transportation and
their costs, please see http://
www.savannahstate.edu/fiscalaffairs/parking.shtml.

Hello from the Savannah State
University Parking and Transportation Department! We’re glad
you’re here. Here are some things
you need to know about parking
and moving through campus.
PARKING DECALS AND

All students, faculty, and staff who
park on campus, must apply for a
decal. You may do so online at
www.savannahstate .edu/decal .
Once you have viewed and saved
the application, please take the application number to the Cashier’s

PARKING LOTS
Parking lots are designated for each of
the four parking categories. Parking is
restricted to the designated lots from
7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on class days.
Otherwise, parking is open to anyone
with a parking decal except in reserved
spaces.
Reserved spaces are always reserved.
There is a sign at the entrance to each parking
lot showing which classification and color decal may park there. In some parking lots
where more than one parking classification is
identified, the spaces may be individually
marked. Tickets will be given to cars parked
in a space or parking lot that is not in their
decal designation. In some cases, violating
cars may be booted and/or towed.
RESERVED PARKING
Reserved parking spaces are only available
for faculty, staff, and administrators. These
must be requested annually in advance.
Parkers with a reserved classification are
allowed to park in any other parking space
except for another reserved space or spaces
marked for specific purposes (e.g., visitors).
PARKING VIOLATIONS
Parking violations are handled by the Auxiliary Services Office. Consequences include
fines, vehicle booting, towing, and/or loss of
driving privileges on campus.

appeals process, please visit:
