The first woman to hold the University’s top position, Chopp succeeds Robert Coombe, whose 33 years at DU culminated in his chancellorship from 2005 –14. Chopp, 62, brings to the post more than 20 years of experience in higher education leadership. Most recently, she served as president of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.
