The index of aggregate weekly hours for all employees in the private sector declined by 0.1 percent in July. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by 2.3 percent. The consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) was up 3.4 percent over the year ending in June. The index of aggregate weekly payrolls of all private sector employees rose by 0.6 percent.
