2008-Present Independent Researcher, NIMH Project (Director – Dr. Heather N. Taussig),
The Kempe Center and the University of Colorado Denver, Denver, CO. I
conduct research examining the risk and protective factors associated with child
maltreatment and violence exposure in an effort to elucidate mechanisms
associated with adolescent violence perpetration and psychopathology.

responsibilities included managing and analyzing data related to a federallyfunded grant examining the efficacy of a preventive intervention for preadolescent
youth in foster care.

responsibilities included collecting, managing, and analyzing data related to a

Graduate Research Assistant, NIAAA Project (Directors – Dr. Ernest N. Jouriles,

included assisting in modifying and implementing an intervention aimed at
addressing the issue of dating violence in adolescent relationships. I also
conducted analyses with collected data for presentation at conferences and
publication of papers.

Program on Dating Violence Outcomes During the Transition to Adulthood
National Institute of Justice, (H. Taussig, PI)
Grant Objective: The purpose of this grant is to examine the developmental
trajectories associated with dating violence (DV) from pre-adolescence through
young adulthood with a high-risk population (youth with a history of
maltreatment and foster care) with a focus on the potential buffering impact of a
prevention program on DV outcomes.

Grant Objective: Using data collected from a community sample of adolescents
and their caregivers, this pilot grant will examine the associations between
violence exposure and violence perpetration and whether youths’ executive
functions mediate this association.
