Business
A. Review of the Minutes from February 12, 2014 and March 12,
2014 was postponed until the next meeting.
B. Michael D. Eisner College of Education
1. New Course EED 300 Introduction to Education - Learning,
Schooling, and Society was withdrawn. EPC discussed this
course at length. Some of the discussion points were:
• "Intro" not good for a 300-level course
• Overlap with EPC 314, 315 and 420
• Accuracy of impact on resources statement
• GE section requested unclear
• No course alignment matrix
• Edit redundancy of "education" in course description
2. New Course SPED 200SL Introduction to Disability Studies was
MSP approved for Spring 2015.
C. College of Health and Human Development
Course Modifications
1. HSCI 237 Introduction to Health Education was tabled.
2. HSCI 312 Introduction to Health Administration was MSP
approved.
3. HSCI 314 Organization and Function of Community Health
Sciences was MSP approved.
4. KIN 415 Medical Aspects of Athletic Training was MSP
approved.
5. NUR 302 Basic Pathophysiology was MSP approved.
6. NUR 310 Principles of Nursing Research was MSP approved
with correction to short title – add spaces after NURS and
before BP.
7. NUR 428/L Community Health Nursing was MSP approved
with change to course description from "for credit for both
courses"…"for credit in the major for both courses".
8. NUR 495 Advancing Professional Practice was MSP approved,
remove suffixes AAAB.
9. RTM 498A-B Field Assignments and Reports was tabled.
New Courses
10. KIN 332 Evidenced Based Practice in Athletic Training was
tabled. Needs full syllabus including bibliography.
11. FCS 422 Family Financial Counseling was MSP approved with
required addition of selected bibliography.
Program Modifications
12. KIN BS Athletic Training was tabled because related new
course KIN 332 was tabled.
13. FCS BS Consumer Affairs was MSP approved with a required
edit, 422 not 425.
14. HSCI Gerontology Minor was withdrawn by College. 500-level
courses proposed as electives require a bachelor’s degree.
15. RTM BS Tourism Hospitality and Recreation Management was
postponed until top of the next meeting.
New Program
16. RTM Minor in Leadership was postponed until top of the next
meeting.
D. Syllabus Policy Revision Group Update was not addressed due to lack
of time.
E. Faculty Authored Materials Update was not addressed due to lack of
time.
