 Welcome back! I hope 2012 will be a successful and happy year
for each of you. As you lay out your calendars with all the useful
information below, remain especially attuned to information about
becoming a peer mentor. By welcoming our ever growing
population of Hispanic/Latino Wahoos, you directly to strengthen
the community as a whole. Remember, I have office hours and I’m available by

forms
Bilingual volunteers are needed from noon-4pm (or
anytime thereof) on February 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th.
If you’re interested in coming for any or all of the sessions,

for your training and other logistics so sign up soon!
About the Southwood Community: It is a mobile home
park owned by Habitat for Humanity off 5th street
extended. The community has a strong Hispanic population
with a 60% majority.

The Women's Initiative is in need of childcare volunteers
that can be with 1 to 3 children for 1.5 hours once a month
while their mothers attend a Support Group
This support group is offered every Wednesday from
10:00 am to 11:30 am for low income Latino Women
The Women's Initiative is to provide effective counseling

services, social support and education to empower women
to transform challenging life situations into opportunities
for renewed well-being and personal growth.

Every second Thursday of the month from 6-7pm Head Start
has a parent meeting for which they need help with
childcare. This tends to be an all Latino group.
