-Superior Proficiency Entrance Exam in Musicology
-Proficiency Entrance Exam in Music Theory and Aural Skills
-Convocation Attendance
-Tool Requirement: ability to read relevant music-based documents in at least one
Western language other than English, as demonstrated by completion of at least 2
years of study of that language at the college level or a language tool examination in
that language
-Thesis: scholarly, article-length paper of publishable quality
-Final Written Exam
-Final Oral Comprehensive Exam; including defense of thesis
*one course in either musicology or music theory must be at the 4000 level.
