Kindergarten Newsletter
It is hard to believe that the end of the year is approaching so quickly.
We would like to share with you some upcoming events for the
Kindergartners.
Upcoming Units
The following units we will begin/continue:
 Math- 2D and 3D shapes, measurement, classifying, graphing,
more addition and subtraction.
 Science- Plants
 Social Studies- Farm and Community
 Religion- Jesus wants us to share God’s love.
 Language Arts- Story writing and using reading strategies.
Letters
We have the following letters to discuss this year: E,W,Y, U, J
Sight Words
Do not forget to practice sight words with your child nightly. Our goal
is to get every child past list 3 flashcards by the end of the school year.
Please do not forget to keep these flashcards and practice with your child
over the summer as well.
KINDERGARTEN CELEBRATION
Save The Date!!! We will be celebrating the
kindergarten students on Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00
in the school gym! All are invited. This is a special
time for our students. They will be singing songs, receiving certificates
and their Kindergarten diploma. We look forward to seeing you there!
Flat Stanley
We have begun to receive some of our flat people back. It is really exciting
to see the looks on the students faces when their flat person comes back and they
see the stories, pictures, etc. that are in those precious envelopes and boxes! We
love to get mail at school. It’s always exciting to try and guess which Flat Person is
in the envelope. That being said, we ask that you refrain from opening them if they
are mailed to your house. The students look forward to opening them
with their friends. We will be sending them home after they are
displayed at school.
BOOK ORDERS
The next book order is being sent home today. We ask that the orders come
back by Thursday, April 7th. There is no obligation to buy, but the children really
get excited about getting books to take home from school and we earn FREE books
for our classroom with orders!
