ANTH 3130 (CRN 4351): Archaeology of Gender Tuesday and Thursday 8-9:50am, 4 credits, Bonnie Clark Examines how archaeology contributes to the study of gender by investigating the deep through the recent past. Students will explore the tangibility of gender, the social context of engendered archaeology, and the promises and limitations of archaeological data. They will also learn about past sex/gender systems that challenge western norms. The course employs a range of pedagogical tools including lecture, discussion, small group work, field trips, and in-class exercises. There are no prerequisites.
